Today’s special word is: lasting

I am always surprised by the way that music can trigger memories. That is one thing that is special to me about Christmas – the holiday music. There are so many wonderful songs that remind me of special times in the past or that remind me of why Christian’s feel the way we do about Christmas. One of my favorite holiday songs that makes me feel closer to God is ‘Oh Holy Night’.

And just because it is fun, another favorite Christmas song for me is ‘I Want a Hippopotamus For Christmas’. 🙂

What Christmas songs do you like to hear every year?

    1. I really appreciate that song now more than ever Theresa. I grew up in Michigan and now live in Texas where we do not have much of a white Christmas. 🙂

  1. Silent Night, either in English or German, is my favorite. On the secular side, I enjoy hearing and playing Sleigh Ride.

    1. My mom’s favorite holiday song was Little Drummer Boy. I have fond memories of her listening to it. Thanks for commenting Lori. 🙂

  2. When we could still get radio reception I used to really like the almost haunting sound of the song that I think was called One Small Child. I also love O Come O Come Emmanuel.

  3. Oh I love the old timey Christmas songs! Silent Night, Holy Night, We Three Kings, It Came Upon a Midnight Clear, O Little Town of Bethleham & etc. I also like What Child is This and Mary Did You Know. Anything that talks about Jesus gets me in the true Christmas mood 🙂

Thanks for sharing your favorite song and the giveaway chance Loraine!

  4. Other than Christmas carols. I’ll be home for Christmas! Is a favorite. But just about any Christmas carol.

  5. One of my favorite holiday songs is “O Holy Night” and then, of course “Jingle Bells” is really fun to sing too! 🙂

  6. I love Christmas music! I love the old hymns and some of the newer more modern stuff. I am listening to Mannheim Steamrollers Christmas music right now=)

  7. I’ve always love White Christmas and for once in my life I live where there is a change I might have one. Oh to see snow and not ice! I will say thought that I saw Momma Kissing Santa Claus and All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth makes me smile and brings back sweet memories of when I was a kid.

  8. One of my favorite Christmas songs is Francesca Battistelli’s song, You’re Here!

  9. My favorite Christmas song is, “It Came Upon A Midnight Clear”.
Thanks for entering me in your giveaway.
