Giveaway at Loraine Nunley's website: A Convenient Christmas Wedding by Regina Scott and Wolf Creek Wife by Penny Richards #BookGiveaway

Welcome to Day 11 of the 12 Days of Christmas Giveaways for 2018!

The Rules: Each day will have its own giveaway that will run for 7 days. You can enter all of the giveaways or just the ones that strike your fancy.Β Many of the giveaways will only be open to US residents (shipping costs you know πŸ™ sorry), but I will have a few open internationally.

Every day there will be special word(s) that you will need to put together the special quote for the Day 12 giveaway. That quote and entry in one of the other 11 giveaways will be required to enter the Day 12 giveaway.

This giveaway is for the historical romances, A Convenient Christmas Wedding by Regina Scott and Wolf Creek Wife by Penny Richards.

Today’s special word(s) is:Β celebrate

I love traditions. New or old. There is something comforting about the predictability of traditions. And even though you do them regularly, they still manage to be special. There are so many traditions around the holidays that I can’t even pick a favorite, but I will tell you about one that is near the top of the list. Our family makes a special cake or dessert for Jesus’ birthday. It isn’t always a cake because we know He likes variety. πŸ˜‰ Then we write down on pieces of paper what we are giving Him for His birthday and put them into a special tin. No one has to share what they wrote because, after all, these are gifts for Jesus. Then we light a candle, sing ‘happy birthday’ to Him, and enjoy the dessert.

Do you have special traditions for the holidays?

  1. Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners at my grandma’s house. We’ve done it nearly every year for around 15 years so I guess it is a tradition now!

  2. Going to Christmas eve service. There is something that has always been special and peaceful with this service.

  3. Since we got married a few years ago, we host a Christmas breakfast/brunch for the family. Not quite as much pressure as hosting a whole holiday meal, at least in my opinion

  4. I like the Christmas Eve Candlelight service. Meal with family. Putting up the tree.

  5. A special holiday tradition for me is making cinnamon rolls on Christmas morning and then gathering as a family to open gifts.

  6. Candlelight Christmas Eve service and the kids β€œcamping out” in the living room together night before Christmas.

  7. After Christmas Eve Candlelight Service we always have Eggnog cake with candles and sing Happy Birthday to Jesus. We eat finger foods and play games while singing Christmas carols.

  8. Placing baby Jesus in the manger on Christmas morning. Then singing Happy Birthday Jesus!

  9. I like to let my kids open one present on Christmas Eve and we read Twas the Night Before Christmas and then turn on A Christmas Story and watch it for 24 hours all through Christmas Day

    1. Oh I love all of that. Twas the Night Before Christmas is one of my favorite Christmas books. Thanks for sharing Linda. πŸ™‚

  10. A special holiday tradition for me is getting together with family on Christmas day to eat, fellowship, and exchange gifts.

  11. I enjoy having my family come for Christmas. Usually they don’t all come on the same day, but they all live within 3 1/2 hours of us, so they usually come for at least a day or two. My grandmother and mother used to make Swiss cookies and Swiss bread. Since they’ve passed on, one of my sisters usually makes the Swiss cookies, and she makes Swiss bread often during the year. She lives near me, so I often benefit from her baking!

  12. A favorite tradition for us is opening our Christmas Eve pjs, putting them on and going for a late night ride around our city to look at Christmas lights.

  13. Decorating the tree is my favorite. My grandma used to knit all her ornaments, so I always put a few of hers on the tree to remember her

  14. We have a Jesus stocking. Throughout December when we see someone do a kind deed for us or another, we write it down and put it in the Jesus Stocking. On Christmas Eve we read them all and read the story of Jesus’ birth.

  15. A special tradition in our household is the ornaments we buy for each of our girls every year. We try to choose ones that somehow reflect their talents, interests or hobbies for that year.
