Welcome to Day 4 of the 12 Days of Christmas Giveaways for 2019!

The Rules: Each day will have its own giveaway that will run for 7 days. You can enter all of the giveaways or just the ones that strike your fancy. Many of the giveaways will only be open to US residents (shipping costs you know 🙁 sorry), but I will have a few open internationally.

Every day there will be special word(s) that you will need to put together the special quote for the Day 12 giveaway. That quote and entry in one of the other 11 giveaways will be required to enter the Day 12 giveaway.

This giveaway is for the contemporary romance, The Cowboy’s Family Christmas by Carolyne Aarsen.

Today’s special word is: books

Have you ever considered how much food is interwoven in our celebrations and our memories? Food takes center stage much of the time. My mom was a pretty good cook and she passed her knowledge onto me. When I got old enough to host the big family dinners at my home, she was happy to let me take center stage while she assisted. 🙂 But one thing I could never take over on was her baking during the Christmas season. She baked the most wonderful desserts for friends and family. To this day I can’t bring myself to make her recipe of my favorite cookies. I think I’m afraid they just won’t taste the same.

To enter the giveaway, just fill out the Rafflecopter form below. Open to readers with USA mailing addresses only. No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited by law. The winner will be notified via email and will have one week to respond back to me with their info. Good Luck and Thank You for stopping by!

The comment requirement for this giveaway is: What is the best thing your parents (or grandparents) ever cooked?

  1. My dad made a delicious salmon and veggie dish on the grill that I loved.

  2. My maternal grandmother baked delicious cookies and cupcake-sized fruitcakes for all her grandchildren every Christmas. And yes, her fruitcake was delicious—one of my favorite Christmas treats.

  3. That would have to be Swiss bread–one of our family’s favorite recipes! My mom’s parents were from Switzerland, and my grandmother and then my mom, and even my dad would make it. When they passed away, some of my siblings now make it. I’ve tried a few times, but mine never turns out as good. My fingers hurt too much when I try to knead the dough, and it doesn’t work quite as well to use a mixer. Luckily my sister who lives near me makes it often and gives us a loaf!

  4. My most favorite food memory was the almond bark covered pretzels my grandma made every Christmas time. She would do both white and chocolate ones. I miss that tradition SO much (and her even more)!

  5. My father made the best homemade lemon meringue pie. Hands down, nothing has compared to it decades and decades later.

  6. That list is much too loooong to put here. I will keep it short, Noder, a cookie/bread, that my great grandma made. The recipe came from at least her grandmother. I am the 6th generation to have the recipe.

  7. My Dad’s Mom was the best cook ever. She made the best home-made bread and cinnamon rolls.
