Welcome to Day 8 of the 12 Days of Christmas Giveaways for 2019!
The Rules: Each day will have its own giveaway that will run for 7 days. You can enter all of the giveaways or just the ones that strike your fancy. Many of the giveaways will only be open to US residents (shipping costs you know 🙁 sorry), but I will have a few open internationally.
Every day there will be special word(s) that you will need to put together the special quote for the Day 12 giveaway. That quote and entry in one of the other 11 giveaways will be required to enter the Day 12 giveaway.
This giveaway is for the Amish novella collection, The Amish Christmas Candle by Kelly Long, Jennifer Beckstrand, and Lisa Jones Baker.
Today’s special word is: that
With all of the focus on Christmas, sometimes we forget that the New Year is right around the corner. But the new year is coming quickly. When I was young, I loved to go out for New Years Eve, but now my tradition is a quiet evening at home with my family. We play games, watch the ball drop on TV, and toast with everyone’s favorite sparkling grape juice.

I don’t have any really. Some years I have a few firecrackers left over from 4th of July in the years before, sometimes not. I’m single and always have been so there’s no kiss on the stroke of 12. I never make resolutions. We don’t have a holiday meal, usually too tired and full of cookies and turkey from Christmas. We don’t have TV so I don’t watch the ball the drop. Pretty much I’m the only one who stays up for midnight, and I always do. So, I guess my tradition is always seeing the New Year in. Last year we watched Bachelor Mother, which has a number of scenes set on New Year’s eve, and I might watch it again this year.
Sounds like a pretty stress free way to ring in the New Year Jasmine. I like that. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
We watch the ball drop and share sparkling juice on New Years Eve.

We toast each other with sparkling cider at 9pm our time zone since it’s 12am on the East coast then go to bed shortly after. We’re too old and tired to stay up till midnight….lol! We do watch the ball drop on TV though 🙂
