This week’s book giveaway is for Chance of Loving You – a novella collection by Terri Blackstock, Candace Calvert, and Susan May Warren. You can check out my review for this book here (My Review of Chance of Loving You).
When I was younger, I read quickly and frequently. I would sit down to read a book and finish it a few hours later. I hated to be interrupted in my reading and if I needed to walk away from the book, I would finish a chapter before doing so.
Having children changed my reading habits. While I would still like to end on a chapter end, I am more likely to be interrupted in the middle of a page. Because I find that I do not have as many long blocks of time to read, I read in shorter spurts.
You would think that novellas would be perfect for me, but I find that I am more satisfied when I finish a longer novel, even if it takes me a week to do it. Still, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to read something written by these three authors. Each of them are a powerhouse on their own.
Where can I learn more about the authors and their books?

I love to read in general, whether novels or novellas, it doesn’t matter. However, I have certain days when I’m short on time or just wanted a quick read, I head for the novellas. Many times, novels explore more and we see the process of development more. With novellas, it’s usually a quick romance without too much activity which works for some occasions.
I share your love to read Annie. Thanks for commenting – good luck!
It all depends on how much time I have available and whatever book grabs my attention at the moment.
I think it may be more difficult for authors to write novellas for just that reason, Jan. They have a shorter amount of time to get their story across. Good luck!
This Novella sounds wonderful! Great giveaway! I enjoy reading novels over novella since I like to get into the characters and their personalities, lives, etc. Some novellas are great. I would think it would be more difficult since the writer has fewer pages in which to share the story. Now I admit, I’d prefer a novella over a novel that just seems to fill the pages with information that is not needed for the story.

I agree Sally. It really comes down to how well the story is written, doesn’t it? Good luck!
Like Annie, I love to read regardless of the story’s length. However, I usually prefer novels because you get to spend more time with the characters. But novellas are perfect for those times when you just need or want a shorter story.
Thanks for sharing, Loraine!
You’re welcome Sarah and good luck!!
I just love to read 🙂 Most of the time I prefer novels over novellas (because of depth, etc.) but I have read some really good novella collections lately! And I’ve been wanting to read this particular one for a while now!
I know what you mean Carrie. Thanks for stopping by and good luck!
I love the longer novels but I do also enjoy novellas. I like those when I don’t have a lot of reading time because of a busy day or week. I haven’t seen this one before and it’s by my favorite authors!
Thank you for the chance to win this one!
You’re welcome Trixi – good luck!!
I like full length novels and sometimes the bigger the better. It just gives more details and leads you on a longer journey.
It’s tough to get deep into characters with shorter stories. I think that’s one of the reasons I like series books so much. Sometimes you can get more character development there. Good luck Zoe!
I love to read and enjoy novels and novellas! Thanks so much for the giveaway. This sounds like a great collection!
They are all great authors Britney. Thanks for commenting and good luck!

What a good point Caryl. Collections are great ways to sample an author’s writing. Thanks for sharing and good luck!
I like to read both, but I think I prefer full length novels because the characters are more developed.
I agree Melissa. Thanks for stopping by and good luck!
I don’t really care about the length of the story. I read both.
Thanks for commenting Linda. Good luck!
