My parents both had difficult lives growing up–one with alcoholic parents and the other given up to foster care freely by the mother. The best part though is that both found each other and created a loving family. My parents celebrated 50 years together recently.
How sweet Danielle. Thank you for sharing that with us. ๐
I have 3 grandsons: 14, 10ยฝ, & 24 months…and two grand babies due this year; one in July & the other in November! Being a Nana is great! ๐

That is so neat Mindy. Thanks for sharing it with us. ๐
My father was a soldier in WWII. He left a whole scrapbook of letters and envelopes from the war. My mother was a missionary kid born in China. She died in February at 101 years old. She wrote a book of her experiences only a couple years ago! She was an antique dealer. Her Interest in antiques came from visiting my fatherโs home town and taking side trips to historical sites. They gave me a solid respect for historical things. Maybe thatโs why I like historical Christian fiction so much!
Hubby and I have 4 children and 8 grandkids. Family is important to us.
Oh wow Paula. I’m sorry you lost your mom recently but what an awesome legacy your parents left you. Thank you so much for sharing it with us. ๐
My daughter and her family live right across the street from us. Most of the time itโs nice.
LOL Gail. I love that. Thanks for sharing. ๐
My blood family is a mystery. My Grandpa on my Dad’s side came to the US as a young man. When he set foot on American soil, he left everything including any family history behind on his homeland soil. In fact, my Dad was a young teenager when he saw a board in the barn with some funny writing on it. When he inquired about it, he was told that was his Dad’s real name. When he became a US citizen he changed his name legally. He said the sign was never seen again. It wasn’t until my Grandpa’s passing that we saw this neutralization papers to know what the name was and names of parents. Other than that we know nothing.
I’ve always said when we see old photos in antique stores that I guess I could pick my own ancestors and make up my own stories. However, I feel that the “family” that I have picked up along the way more than make up for past ones I know nothing about.
That is so intriguing Kay. I have a blended family (his, mine, and ours) so I firmly believe that family is more than just blood relation. Thanks for sharing with us. ๐
Kay, have you tried Ancestry or FamilySearch? Depending on which country your family came from, there’s probably some information out there to be found. Genealogy is my hobby, and I enjoy a good puzzle. I’d be more than happy to do a little digging for you. (Free, of course. I enjoy researching for fun!)
My dad ws a pastor and my mom a pastors wife. My husband was a pastor also and we became missionaries later on. My momโs dad was a lay preacher in Poland. So we have a fine Christian heritage.
And you are aptly named Faith. ๐ Thanks for sharing that with us.

Small family, parents, me and my brother.
I can relate to that Carol. It was the same with me growing up. Thanks for commenting. ๐
My family is wonderful, loud, a bit zany, and I wouldn’t change it at all. We may argue but we always come around because we are sealed together forever, and we know that our family is eternal. There’s a lot of joy and security in that knowledge.
I love that Karen. Thanks for sharing your family with us. ๐
There’s really nothing special about my family. We are disfunctional and argumentative, but when it really counts we come together as a family. We recently had to come together as a family when my younger brother became ill and died suddenly. No matter what, we love each other very much.
Oh, I’m so sorry about your brother Debbie. Your family actually sounds pretty special to me. Thanks for sharing with us. ๐
My Daddy’s family all lived in the same small town. My uncle lives across the street from the homestead. Other siblings lived across the highway.

I have four children, two girls and two boys. Growing up, I always wanted four children, two if each. This makes me think often of Psalm 37:4, “Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart. ”
Thank you for the opportunity to win.
Isn’t is wonderful how God does give us the desires of our hearts? Thanks for sharing that and welcome to my website Courtney. ๐

My father was frequently away from home, serving in the military. When I was younger, he used to make up stories to tell us about a boy named George and his adventures with a magic whistle, the queen of the butterflies, and Topo Gigio, king of the rainbow mice. Sometimes the stories were recorded on tape and sent from shipboard far away. When I had children of my own, I made up my own stories to tell them at bedtime. Good memories and all of us grew up loving to read!
That is the sweetest story in and of itself Sharron. Thank you for sharing your family with us. Welcome to my website. ๐
