This week’s book giveaway is for Head in the Clouds by Karen Witemeyer. You can check out my review for this book here (Head in the Clouds Review).
Where can I learn more about this author and their books?
Karen Witemeyer, author website
Something that I like about historical novels is that I generally learn something new about the time frame that the book is set in. This story was set on a sheep ranch in Texas. I loved that because, living in Texas, I hear quite a bit about cattle ranches. Longhorns are a big deal around here. 🙂 I have not heard about sheep and I found it pretty interesting, especially how the sheep were branded. You will have to read it yourself to find out about that part though.

The comment requirement for this giveaway is: What is your favorite animal?
Share this so we can support these wonderful authors!
My favorite animal is a dog. We now have zebra finch so they are a favorite too
I just looked up the zebra finch. They are so pretty. Thanks for sharing Andrea! 🙂
Panda.
I remember seeing a Panda at the Atlanta Zoo when our family visited. It was adorable! Thanks for commenting. 🙂
I love the cover of this book! And I love Loraine’s review where she said “her head in the clouds only spoke of a hope for a brighter future.” I want to read this book!
I forgot to mention my favorite animal. I think it’s a deer because they are so strong and graceful! But for a tamed animal, I prefer a cat.
We have deer that come through our neighborhood and they are a sight to behold. Thanks for commenting. 🙂
Oh, I’m so happy you read my review Becky. This was a really good book.
I’m not sure I have a favorite animal. I love watching chipmunks in the yard. Dogs and cats have been in my life through the years. I am so thankful when I see a rabbit that the coyotes haven’t eaten. Seeing a red fox run through the field in the spring was an exciting moment. I definitely think animals add a wonderful dimension to our lives, but I don’t really have a favorite.
I think it’s pretty fascinating that there are sooo many different kinds of animals. Thanks for sharing Kay! 🙂
This week I’ve been watching a mother deer and her young twins. God did make a wonderful variety of animals!
He did indeed Kay! 🙂
I absolutely LOVE Karen’s books and would love to win a copy of Head in the Clouds. 🙂
Hmmm. That is a hard question. I think I am going to say my favorite animal is a dolphin. They are so beautiful and magestic and are pretty friendly. 🙂
Ohh! I love dolphins too Sydney! They are certainly at the top of my list. Thanks for sharing! 🙂
My favorite animal is my chickens, especially the three babies that just hatched. Would ❤️ to read this book. Thank you for the chance. God bless.
How neat Lucy! I grew up in the suburbs so I didn’t have much exposure to farm animals, but I remember having a biology class where the teacher brought in baby chicks for us to evaluate their growth. They were sooo cute. 🙂
Fave animal? Hmmm.. That would be hard. To own? I’d say dog. To watch? Fish. To admire, deer!
Oh, you covered all the bases Annie! I love that! Thanks for sharing. 🙂
My favorite animal is the red panda. They have a cute face and are herbivores.
I like that Merry. You know, I didn’t know what a red panda was until my family visited the Atlanta Zoo several years ago. They are absolutely adorable! Thanks for commenting. 🙂
Horses are at the top of my list!
Love it! 🙂 Do you have a favorite type of horse Deanna?
I love penguins! I love going to zoos or aquariums and just watch them.
Welcome to my website Amber! Thanks for commenting. 🙂
I really like cockatoo’s. I love the head crest. They are a noisy, so I don’t know if I’d want to own one, I just like to look at them.
I agree Lisa, Cockatoo’s are so pretty. Thanks for commenting. 🙂
My fave animals are dolphins, panda bears, and baby tigers. I recently got to cross an item off my bucket list when I was kissed by a dolphin and allowed to pet him – such intelligent creatures!! I’ve always loved bears – carried a stuffed one for security for years when I was a kid. And baby tigers are so adorable – until they are no longer babies, that is, lol!!
Thanks for the giveaway opportunity, Loraine!!
You are very welcome Bonnie. That is so neat that you were in such close contact with a dolphin – wow! Thanks for sharing. 🙂
I love dogs.
Awesome Cheryl! 🙂 Do you have a favorite type or just in general?
There’s so many “favorite” animals 🙂 I love housecats, tigers, birds of prey, squirrels, chipmunks…I think just about any of God’s creatures has their own uniqueness and therefore their own beauty! I tell you one of my dreams is to work in a bird sanctuary to help injured birds of prey and take care of those who can’t be re-released into the wild due to some medical issues. I think they are so majestic!
Now that I’ve rambled, thanks for the chance to win a book by Karen! I love her writing style 🙂
It’s a great story Trixi – I know you will like it. I think your dream is so cool. I have always thought that the birds of prey were so interesting and beautiful to watch. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
My favorite animal would have to be a cat, my cat is always there for me and always makes me smile. However, I love all animals and it’s really hard to pick just one.
I can totally relate to that Dianne. Our cat, Louise, is a joy to have around. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
I like giraffes!
Oooo. Another good animal. Giraffes are so neat, aren’t they Joan? I remember going to the Binder Park Zoo in Michigan and our children being able to feed them from the trail that we walked. Thanks for commenting! 🙂
I love dogs! They’re loyal and full of unconditional love!
On an unrelated note, I loved Head in the Clouds! It was my first Karen Witemeyer book, and I was hooked!
Gotta love that about dogs, don’t you Karen? 🙂 This was my first book by Karen as well and it will not be my last! Thanks for commenting.
I’m pretty plain Jane. Dogs will be my answer to a favorite animal.
Nothing plain about that Anne. 🙂 Just look at all the varieties of dogs in the world. Thanks for commenting!
I love rabbits and turtles!
Awesome Heidi 🙂 – A few months ago, we had a pretty big turtle (for a suburban neighborhood) make its way across our backyard and down our long driveway. It was so cool looking. I hope it got home okay. Thanks for commenting.
I love dogs and horses!
Thanks for sharing Caryl! 🙂
