Giveaway at Loraine Nunley's website: Remnants Season of Wonder by Lisa T. Bergren #BookGiveaway

This week’s book giveaway is for the YA Dystopian book Remnants: Seasons of Wonder by Lisa T. Bergen (see my review here).

Where can I learn more about this author and their books?

Lisa T. Bergren, author website

I didn’t know what the Dystopian book genre was until after I had already read some of them. For those of you who are in the same boat I was in, here is a definition of Dystopian fiction by author Vannetta Chapman who wrote Deep Shadows: “So what is dystopian fiction? At its core this type of story deals with a major shift in society—a plague or a global natural disaster or a man-caused universal change across the breadth of society.” So it’s basically life after an apocalypse.

After a disaster, people have to adjust to a new way of life. Sometimes they have to adjust to life without technology. My first experience with this kind of book was probably author Terri Blackstock’s Restoration series which is what happens to society when there is a global blackout.

It is definitely an interesting genre.

  1. Until a couple of years ago I hadn’t heard of the genre “dystopian fiction”. Now I find it everywhere and I find myself reading it frequently. I believe that I like it in the same way that I find true crime stories interesting. We live in a fallen and sinful world. I am always seeking to find the nuggets of God given rays of sunshine in the bad.

  2. I have never heard about it – but I have a teen who I would love to be reading things other then what the normal is.

    Thank you for the chance.

    1. Welcome to my website Connie. Even though I am not the intended audience for the book, I found it very interesting. Good luck. 🙂

  3. I have never read dystopian fiction, but I would really like to give it a try. The book sounds like a great read.

  4. I haven’t read any but I know what they are now. Haha! I know I would like reading these types of books.
