This week’s book giveaway will run for three weeks and is for the Shadows Over England series by Roseanna M White.
What are these books about?
A Name Unkown
Rosemary Gresham has no family beyond the band of former urchins that helped her survive as a girl in the mean streets of London. Grown now, they concentrate on stealing high-value items and have learned how to blend into upper-class society. But when Rosemary must determine whether a certain wealthy gentleman is loyal to Britain or to Germany, she is in for the challenge of a lifetime. How does one steal a family’s history, their very name?
Peter Holstein, given his family’s German blood, writes his popular series of adventure novels under a pen name. With European politics boiling and his own neighbors suspicious of him, Peter debates whether it might be best to change his name for good. When Rosemary shows up at his door pretending to be a historian and offering to help him trace his family history, his question might be answered.
But as the two work together and Rosemary sees his gracious reaction to his neighbors’ scornful attacks, she wonders if her assignment is going down the wrong path. Is it too late to help him prove that he’s more than his name?
A Song Unheard
Willa Forsythe is both a violin prodigy and top-notch thief, which makes her the perfect choice for a crucial task at the outset of World War I–to steal a cypher from a famous violinist currently in Wales.
Lukas De Wilde has enjoyed the life of fame he’s won–until now, when being recognized nearly gets him killed. Everyone wants the key to his father’s work as a cryptologist. And Lukas fears that his mother and sister, who have vanished in the wake of the German invasion of Belgium, will pay the price. The only light he finds is meeting the intriguing Willa Forsythe.
But danger presses in from every side, and Willa knows what Lukas doesn’t–that she must betray him and find that cypher, or her own family will pay the price as surely as his has.
An Hour Unspent
Once London’s top thief, Barclay Pearce has turned his back on his life of crime and now uses his skills for a nation at war. But not until he rescues a clockmaker’s daughter from a mugging does he begin to wonder what his future might hold.
Evelina Manning has constantly fought for independence, but she certainly never meant for it to inspire her fiancé to end the engagement and enlist in the army. When the intriguing man who saved her returns to the Manning residence to study clockwork repair with her father, she can’t help being interested. But she soon learns that nothing with Barclay Pearce is as simple as it seems.
As 1915 England plunges ever deeper into war, the work of an ingenious clockmaker may give England an unbeatable military edge–and Germany realizes it as well. Evelina’s father soon finds his whole family in danger–and it may just take a reformed thief to steal the time they need to escape.

Good Question! I’d sew it into an article of intimate clothing on the inside. I supposed they could still find it!

In the dirt under a plant.
That’s an interesting hiding place Jan. 🙂 Thanks for commenting.
I’d hide it where I hid my childhood diary: behind my chest of drawers in the hollow space where it cannot be seen from the front.
Oh how mysterious Janice. 🙂 Thanks for commenting.
I’d hide in in my spare keurig machine
Thanks for commenting Kathryn. 🙂
I don’t know for sure where I would hide it, but I would think I would want to find something that has two layers, but usually doesn’t…like a false bottom, but not that obvious…and hide it between the layers.
Sounds like a great idea Colleen. 🙂 Thanks for commenting.
I would hide it in a bottle among other bottles.
Clever. Thanks for commenting Lucy. 🙂
In My Freezer Frozen inside an already made Lasagna LOL
That would be hard to find Linda. 🙂 Thanks for commenting.
I’d probably seal it in plastic and hide it in the flour canister…or inside one of my daughter’s video cases (yes, she still has some).
Thanks for commenting Roxanne. 🙂
Inside one of our 16 year old Chihuahua’s many squeaky toys. Open the seam slip it in and then sew it back up. For one thing he won’t let anyone near his squeaky toy. 🙂 Second, he has so many hopefully they would tire before they found the right one.
LOL That sounds like a good plan Kay. I especially like the added protection of your attack Chihuahua. 🙂 Thanks for commenting.
I would memorize it and not have any written copies of it.
Thanks for commenting Vivian. 🙂
Inside my favorite pen.
Thanks for commenting Mindy. 🙂
I would hide my secret code The Secret Garden novel on my bookshelf. 😉
How appropriate! 😉 Thanks for commenting Caryl.
I would sew my secret code into a piece of my clothes.
Thanks for commenting Connie. 🙂
In my bra! I would make a terrible spy.
Thanks for commenting Dianna. 🙂
I hope I don’t put it with my key ring that I put in a safe place last summer! It’s still there wherever it is! In a shoe box with a pair of shoes.
So well hidden that you can’t even find it. LOL Thanks for commenting Joan. 🙂
I’d hide it in my shoe or armpit 😉
LOL That would certainly be interesting to watch you move around Heidi. 🙂 Thanks for commenting.
I would put it in the large braid in my hair with a ribbon
Thanks for commenting Susan. 🙂
Sewn between layers of my clothing.
Sounds like a good idea Jan. Thanks for commenting. 🙂
Put it in a ziploc bag and pit it in the bottom of a ceramic vase, add water and fresh flowers. Voila!
Oh how sneaky! Thanks for commenting Perrianne. 🙂
