This week’s book giveaway is for the inspirational historical fiction book The Invention of Sarah Cummings by Olivia Newport.
Synopsis from the back of the book:
Sarah Cummings has one goal in life — to break into Chicago’s high society. Desperate to stop serving dinner to members of the wealthy Banning family and to start eating at society tables, Sarah spends her meager free time altering cast-off gowns to create the perfect wardrobe for her future life.
When opportunity knocks at a chance meeting, she presents herself as Serena Cuthbert, weaving a fictitious past to go with her fictitious name. But as she gets closer to her goal — and closer to Simon Tewell, director of St. Andrew’s orphanage — Sarah finds that she must choose between the life she has and the life she dreams of.
Can she piece together the perfect life from scraps? Or will it all come unraveled in the face of true love?

I love to wear jeans and t-shirt or sweatshirt
Comfortwear right Sheila? I love that. 🙂
I have a thing for scarves!!
Oh, so does my daughter. I don’t wear them myself, but I just love the look on others. 🙂 I am so glad to see that you are feeling better Annie!
I like loose flowy (I think I just made up that word) clothes. I really love bright colors, too!
Oooo flowy clothes sound really comfortable Becky! 🙂
Now that I’m retired my uniform of the day is jeans and tee shirts.
I can relate to that Gail. When I stopped working in the business world to stay at home with my children, I pretty much “hung up” (pun intended) my business suits. 🙂
My favorite thing to wear is my flannel pj pants, but only at home. I wear jeans and a t-shirt outside my home. Thanks for the giveaway and good luck everyone.
You’re welcome Debbie! I have a very fuzzy and warm pair of flannel pants that I like to slip into on cold evenings so I can relate to that. 🙂
I’m in to being comfortable these days, mostly I wear comfy slacks and tops.
Nothing wrong with that Dianne. Comfy is good! 🙂
My purple sweats and pink shirt
Wow, those colors are my daughter’s favorites Jan. I love that! 🙂
Sweatshirts
There is something so welcoming about a good sweatshirt, isn’t there Joan? 🙂
I love comfy things, so usually my most comfortable pants and a sweater (It’s pretty cold outside right now).
I so get that Winnie. I tend to lean toward comfy over stylish most of the time. 🙂
Hats…I have a nice little collection. I try to add 4-6 new hats to my collection every year.
Oh, I love it when women wear hats Amanda, particularly unusual ones. My mom loved hats too. When she was young, she would wear and entire ensemble which would include a matching hat and purse. 🙂
My favorite piece of clothing to wear is my hubby’s tee shirts. He is a union carpenter and they always give him large and he gives them to me to sleep in.
Happy New Year!
That sounds so nice and cozy Lucy. 🙂
I love to wear a bathing suit and flip-flops all day…because that usually means I’m on vacation without a care in the world!
LOL Kasey. 🙂 I love the idea of not having a care in the world. Welcome to my website.
my black yoga pants 🙂 I work from home and it’s my standard, comfy attire.
Oh I am all for comfort Connie. 🙂
My PJs have to win for favorite thing to wear. 🙂
PJs and a good book, right Mom? 🙂
I enjoy wearing leggins with a long tunic and boots.
Happy New Year!
Oh that sounds comfy and stylish at the same time Caryl. 🙂
Blue jeans and tennis shoes for me too!
I’m beginning to see a pattern of comfort here Patty. 🙂
Layers! turtlenecks & sweatshirts 🙂
Oh, my daughter dresses in layers Deanna. She is always looking for different ways to layer her clothing. 🙂
Jammies! At the end of the day to get cozy in comfortable jammies and relax is the best.
I’m with you there, Zoe. 🙂
My birkenstocks. I need them for healthy feeling feet.
Happy feet make the day so much better, Donna. Welcome to my website. 🙂
