Giveaway at Loraine Nunley's website: The Wedding Dress by Rachel Hauck #BookGiveaway

Today’s book giveaway is for the inspirational contemporary romance book The Wedding DressΒ by Rachel Hauck.

Synopsis from the back of the book:

Charlotte owns a chic Birmingham bridal boutique. Dressing brides for their big day is her gift — and her passion. But with her own wedding day approaching, why can’t she find the perfect dress — or feel certain she should marry Tim?

Then Charlotte purchases a vintage dress in a battered trunk at an estate sale. It looks brand-new, shimmering with pearls and satin, hand-stitched and timeless in its design. But where did it come from? Who wore it? Who welded the lock shut and tucked the dog tags in that little sachet? Who left it in the basement for a ten-year-old girl? And what about the mysterious man in the purple vest who insists the dress had been “redeemed”?

Charlotte’s search for the gown’s history — and its new bride — begins as a distraction from her sputtering love life. But it takes on a life of its own as she comes to know the women who have worn the dress. Emily from 1912. Mary Grace from 1939. Hillary from 1968. Each with her own story of promise, pain, and destiny. And each with something unique to share. For woven within the threads of the beautiful hundred-year-old gown is the truth about Charlotte’s heritage, the power of courage and faith, and the beauty of finding true love.

  1. My happy wedding memory is the video I had made because now I can watch it and see people who aren’t with us anymore

  2. My happy memory is when my dad went to give me away, with tears in his eyes and told me how much he loved me! precious memory since he is gone now

  3. Our photographer took a picture of my husband and me with both sets of his grandparents. One of his grandfathers passed away shortly thereafter, so it was especially precious to us. My mother-in-law loved the picture, because it was the only one they had of both sets together.

  4. My husband’s grandfather gave me a ‘penny in my shoe’ to wear on our wedding day. I actually wore it in my shoe, but lost it later that afternoon.

  5. My happy wedding memory is dancing with my dad at the reception. He cried and tried to sing the entire John Denver tune Sunshine on My Shoulders.

  6. Happy Wedding memory is more funny than happy I remember my mom’s mom was there for my mom’s second marriage and she told the officiator to SPEAK UP. It was memorable…lol

  7. Our daughter’s wedding: the florist never got there; she got lost. My sister grabbed some artificial flowers that were on display in the basement and shoved them in the girls’ hands. No one knew unless we told them.
Mine: had to borrow two sewing machines to finish making my dress because my machine broke.

  8. A special memory of my wedding day was having my dad walk me down the aisle, give me away, and they step into place to perform the ceremony, as he was both my dad and my pastor! 60 years ago!

  9. My wedding was beautiful! My most special memory was the rain shower that came (and went) quickly before we walked down the path to our special spot in the creek-bed on my husband’s grandparent’s farm. Rain is a sign of good luck to a marriage. It has brought us luck – we have celebrated 28 anniversaries so far. πŸ™‚

  10. Just spending our special day with people who mattered to us…our friends and next door neighbors! It was a small ceremony overlooking the ocean here on the Oregon coast where we live and officiated by the justice of the peace. I loved that he traveled to where we wanted it instead of inside a courthouse!

We just celebrated 20 years and had a renewing of our vows in April. My son walked me down the aisle, my granddaughter was my flower girl and my daughter was up front waiting for us along with my husband. My church family made it special by attending and throwing a wonderful reception with lots of great food and fellowship! I’m more in love with my husband everyday I think πŸ™‚

  11. One of the happiest memories from our wedding was that everyone got to attend. We moved our wedding to my husband’s home state taking with us everyone from Arkansas so that Grandma Hartsell could attend. The smile it put on her face that day made all the weeks of planning long distance well worth it.

  15. My happy wedding memory is having most of my family at my wedding, despite getting married in South America (not really by choice). I didn’t think they were going to be able to make it because of costs, but prayers were answered and they did! πŸ™‚
