Today’s book giveaway is for two inspirational contemporary fiction books: The Wishing Season and Married ’til Monday by Denise Hunter.
Synopsis from the back of the books:
The Wishing Season: She has the touch when it comes to food, but PJ McKinley’s dream of opening her own restaurant is one building short of reality. So when a Chapel Springs resident offers her beloved ancestral home as a prize to the applicant with the best plan for the house, PJ believes she was meant to win.
Contractor Cole Evans is confident, professional, and swoon-worthy — but this former foster kid knows his life could have turned out very differently. When Cole discovers the contest, he believes his home for foster kids in transition has found its saving grace. All he has to do is convince the owner that a not-for-profit enterprise will be good for the community.
When the eccentric philanthropist weighs the proposals, she proposes an outlandish tie-breaker: PJ and Cole share the house for a year to see which idea works best. Now, with Cole and the foster kids upstairs and PJ and the restaurant below, day-to-day life has turned into an out-and-out rivalry — with some seriously flirtatious hallway encounters on the side. But could their magnetic attraction cost them everything they’ve ever wanted?
Married ’til Monday: Ryan McKinley has tried to move on from his ex-wife, Abby. He’s sulked, he’s gotten angry, and ultimately he bought her dream house. Big mistake. Living alone in the massive two-story has only made him miss her more. When her parents call him out of the blue about their anniversary party in Summer Harbor, Maine, Ryan believes God has dropped a golden opportunity straight in his lap.
Abby McKinley never exactly told her parents about the divorce. A strained relationship with her dad has culminated in a distant relationship with her parents, but she’s finally succumbed to her mom’s pressure to make the drive for their 35th-anniversary party.
Then Ryan shows up on her doorstep, looking as handsome as ever. When he insists he’s going to Summer Harbor, with or without her, Abby knows she can’t say no. Her parents still think they’re married and now Ryan knows it too. It’s just a one-week road-trip with the man who broker her heart. What could possibly go wrong?

The first thing that comes to mind is Hundred Acre Wood. 🙂 I think Gotham City would be pretty cool too. Knowing that someone with super skills and unlimited resources was looking out to the underdog and defeating criminals is kind of reassuring.
Those represent both ends of the spectrum too don’t they Kay? Thanks for sharing that. 🙂
The only one that comes to mind is Jan Karon’s Mitford. I’m not a Harry Potter fan, but I think it would be fun to visit Hogwarts. Thank you formthe giveaway opportunity.
You’re welcome Perrianne. I’ve read a few of Jan Karon’s Mitford books and that does sound like a nice little town. Thanks for commenting. 🙂
Hmm. I have enjoyed Smitten, VT from the novellas written by Denise Hunter, Colleen Coble, Kristin Billerbeck, and Diann Hunt.
Thanks for sharing that Mindy. 🙂
My favorite fictional town is Hope Valley (Coal Valley) from Janette Oke’s When Calls the Heart
Welcome to my website Beth and thanks for commenting. 🙂
I love Denise Hunter’s books! I’m so happy about this giveaway. I’ve read the first two books in this series and can’t wait to read these two remaining ones.
As for my favorite fictional town, I think I’ll go classic and say Green Gables from Anne of Green Gables.
Oh Green Gables would have to be on my list too Chanel. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
I really love Denise Hunter’s books! My favorite fictional town is Susan May Warren’s Deep Haven, Minnesota from her Christiansen Family series. I feel like I have lived there and know my way around town. LOL!
I love that Becky. I really enjoyed that series too. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
I love Stars Hollow from Gilmore Girls and Deep Haven from Susan May Warren’s Christiansen Family series!
Oooo Stars Hollow! Top of my list too Heidi. 🙂
Christmas Town as seen in several Christmas movies, and Stars Hollow from The Gilmore Girls.

I don’t really have just one favorite small town. Those are my favorite kind of books. One that comes to mind is Debbie Macombers, Cedar Cove
So many good ones to chose from right Linda? I love Cedar Cove. 🙂
I love Charm Ohio! as well as Cedar Cove
Awesome Shelia. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
My favorite fictional town is Hogsmeade because of the cozy architecture. i also love The Shire from Lord of the Rings (cute, cute houses and the all the flowers and gardens make me want to live there).
Thanks for sharing that Danielle. 🙂
Jan Karon’s Mitford, because I live in NC and love Blowing Rock which Mitford is based on. I love Denise Hunter’s books and would love to win these. Thanks for the opportunity!
Thanks for sharing that Evangeline. 🙂
I’ve been looking for an actual small town that is like the ones in the Hallmark movies. Do you think Blowing Rock is such a place?
I love Denise Hunter’s books. Thanks for the opportunity to win. I don’t really have a favorite fictional town, but I’ve enjoyed the Haven Point series and the Cold Creek series by RaeAnne Thayne. She really knows how to create the small town feeling in books.
That’s great Winnie. Thanks for commenting. 🙂
I am not sure how to decide! I agree with some of the locations mentioned and I also love watching Chesapeake Shores on Hallmark. I know the show is based on books by Sherryl Woods, which I have not read, but it just seems like a cozy town to live in!
The setting that Chesapeake Shores is taped in is definitely beautiful Laura. 🙂
Hope Valley from When Calls The Heart ❤️
Awesome Lucy! Thanks for commenting.
I think one of my favorite fictional towns is in Irene Hannon’s contemporary series Hope Harbor. It’s based on a coastal town on the southern Oregon coast (which I live in Oregon so it was fun to read about) but of course the town name is made up. I think my favorite settings for books or movies is small towns somewhere since I live in one 🙂
I love Denise Hunter as an author and these two I haven’t read yet, but really want to! Thanks for the giveaway chance Loraine.
You’re welcome Trixi and thanks for sharing that. 🙂
That’s a hard question since I normally don’t think about it. Hope, Love, Star, Eternal, Christian, if any of those names are in the town’s name I like that.
Thanks for commenting Sally. 🙂
It would have to be the town of Mitford from Jan Karon’s novels.
Another one for Mitford! Thanks for commenting Patty. 🙂
Hogsmeade for sure!
Thanks for commenting Shash. 🙂
Definitely Mitford from the Father Tim novels by Jan Karon.
