Giveaway at Loraine Nunley's website: Whispers of a New Dawn by Murray Pura #BookGiveaway

Today’s book giveaway is for the inspirational historical fiction bookΒ Whispers of a New DawnΒ by Murray Pura.

Synopsis from the back of the book:

The year is 1941. Pilots Jude and Lyyndy Whetstone arrive with their adult daughter, Becky, back in their Amish community of Lancaster County. It’s time to consider giving up flying forever and finally settle down among their relatives. It seems God is leading that way, especially when Becky finds romance with young Moses Yoder and decides to abandon the skies for the life of an Amish wife.

A summons to exotic Honolulu changes everything. Jude has been asked to train fighter pilots for the new Army Air Forces. If they go, they will not be allowed to return. But the call to serve the country they love prevails, so the family departs amidst tears at what they’re leaving behind and fears at what awaits them.

Once settled on the beautiful island of Oahu, Becky is also hired on as a flight instructor and takes an immense dislike to her newest student — the brash Christian Raven. Their turbulent road to love comes to a crashing halt with the horrific bombing of Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. As Christian joins in the fight that will become World War II, Becky wonders if God would be so cruel as to snatch love from her life a second time.

    • That was one place that I wanted to go when our family went to Georgia for vacation but we didn’t make it there. πŸ™ I’ve heard many good things about it. Thanks for sharing Linda. πŸ™‚

  1. The most beautiful and amazing place I have been is Israel. We were so blessed to be able to go there! I have read a couple of Pura’s books and would love to win a copy of this one. Thanks for the chance.

  2. I haven’t had the opportunity to travel a lot, but for me the most beautiful place that I have been to is the Smokey Mountains in Tennessee. It is just such a beautiful and peace place to sit back and look at one of God’s many creations!

  3. The most amazing place I’ve been is a little town in the hill country. There are only about 300 people that live there. It’s like Mayberry with a beautiful scenery tucked along the mountains.

    • Is it like a Hallmark movie place Deana? I’ve been wondering if small towns like the ones in the Hallmark movies actually exist. πŸ™‚

  4. Idaho, and I live there πŸ™‚ Banff and Lake Louise Canada is also gorgeous

    • Idaho is another state that I have never been to but have heard good things about. I’m adding some more places to my bucket list Bonnie. πŸ™‚

  5. My FIL served in WWII so I’m always fascinated with books from this time period.
St Thomas that I visited on a cruise was so gorgeous and I’d love to go back again some day!

  6. The most beautiful place I have been to (so far) has to be our bucket list trip we took two years ago through the New England states in the fall of the year. If I had to pick one place only and not being able to choose just one only of the fall coloring, I would pick Niagara Falls which we saw on the same trip on the way back home. It is a sight to behold! I even took a helicopter ride to see it from the air. Now mind you, I am terrified of heights but with camera in hand I was so absorbed in taking photos and seeing it all that I never realized we were turning this way and that and really have no memory of the flight itself. πŸ™‚

    • That is awesome Kay! I’m originally from Michigan and one of the things I loved most was the fall colors! I’ve never been to Niagara and I really need to remedy that. πŸ™‚

  7. Fayette, Michigan. It’s a ghost town that’s a State Park in Michigan and sits on Big Bay De Noc and it is so beautiful and peaceful.

    • I have not been to that part of Michigan’s UP, but I know it is just beautiful up there. Thanks for sharing Dianne. πŸ™‚

    • Alaska is another place on my bucket list Amanda. I’ve seen so many beautiful pictures of the state. πŸ™‚

  8. Hmmm…I haven’t traveled much, so perhaps up north in Michigan. I love visiting Tahquamenon Falls in the U.P., Mackinac Island, and all those beautiful places. Being from MI I might be biased though.

    • Oh my goodness Laura, I absolutely love Tahquamenon Falls. It is truly a beautiful place. Thanks for sharing that with us. πŸ™‚

  9. I’ve been to Hawaii and Colorado Springs, CO. Both places have their own unique beauty.

    • I quite agree about Colorado because I have actually been there. Hawaii is on my bucket list. Both very unique and beautiful in different ways Caryl. πŸ™‚
