My review:

Caution: This story is blatantly inspirational and steamy…in a very good way.

The romance between Sam and Genevieve was great. I completely understood Sam’s reluctance to get involved and got a few chuckles from how Genevieve pushed her way past his barriers. When they finally began to admit their feelings, the windows steamed up. It was just the right balance of heart pounding romance and innocence. The mystery of her parents past, which I was surprised about, made for a good reason to turn the pages.

Sam and Genevieve both struggled with the demons of perfection and I loved how the author weaved their struggles into their relationship with God as well as each other. This story could not have been told without God front and center but it did so without preaching. So well done.

Christians often find themselves under pressure to hide their flaws from the world. How can they reflect God in a good way if they are flawed? The opposite is actually true. It is through our flaws and weaknesses that God’s character is best shown to the world. This story served up a wonderful reminder of that in all of the characters, but especially in Genevieve.

What I enjoyed most about this book

I loved the ‘ah-ha’ moment when Genevieve found God. I got choked up.

What I didn’t like about this book:

There were a few times when background information felt like an info dump.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Would I recommend this book to others? Yes I would. Deep inspirational thread, swoony romance, and a mystery to boot! This is the first book in the series. I can’t wait for the next one to be released.

Note: I received this book complimentary as a participant of the Prism book tour. I was not required to give a positive review. All of the opinions I have expressed are my own.
