My review:

This was such an interesting book. It was a story within a story. I have to say that I was completely engrossed in the WW2 story which was the grandfather’s unpublished novel. That story alone would have been a really good book. It did take me some time to connect with the grandson’s story, but by the end of the book I was hooked there as well.

What I enjoyed most about this book:

Definitely the grandfather’s novel was my favorite. It had suspense, intrigue and romance.

What I didn’t like about this book:

It took me some time to get invested in the other story so it was a little slow for me through those parts.

My rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Would I recommend this book to others?

Yes. This was the first book I read by this author and I will definitely be giving his books another look.
