C-17 Globemaster III: An Introduction

The C-17 Globemaster III, like the military transport aircraft developed before it, has a reputation within the aviation community. It is capable of transporting people, vehicles and equipment across the globe. It is known for its capability of handling large loads as well as being able to land and take off in unconventional areas anywhere in the world. It can land on small airfields and in harsh terrains. This, coupled with the small crew (pilot, co-pilot, and loadmaster) that is needed to fly it, makes this aircraft in high demand.

The C-17 was introduced in 1991. Since its introduction, it has been a workhorse for the military, in the US and abroad. During its flight testing, it set 33 world records.
