Giveaway at Loraine Nunley's website: 2 books from Deborah Raney's Hanover Falls Series #BookGiveaway

Deborah Raney is one of those authors that I know I am going to enjoy reading the moment I pick up one of her books.  I really enjoyed reading the Hanover Falls series.  I am not a person who gets emotional when I read, but the first book in the series actually made me cry!  I liked that and disliked that at the same time – you know what I mean?  The characters in this series struggled with real problems.  Not only was I drawn into the stories, but when the last book came along, well, all I can say is… I did not see that coming!  You will have to read it to know what I’m talking about.  You can read my individual reviews by clicking on each book cover.

  1. My favorite hero ~ A Christian man with strength and compassion. One who will jump into any situation to help 🙂

  2. The christian men and women during WWII who saved jewish children are my hero’s.

  3. I love Deborah Raney’s books! Thanks for sharing — well loved books just pass the love along.

  4. Missionaries to the Muslim culture. We Americans tend to view Muslims as terriorists when many of them are kind people just waiting for someone to lead them to Jesus.

  5. I can think of no better person than my husband! God has mightily used him time & time again in my life when I most needed it. He has taught me what true love is…the love of a husband, dad, & friend. He’s the best example of 1 Corinthians 13 (the love chapter), the Fruit of the Spirit, and how God says in His word how a husband should be for his wife, all rolled into one! My husband’s boundless measure of faith has been my rock in times of trail, and encouraged me to seek more ways to be a Godly woman in my own walk. His is a true example of what it means to be a Christ follower! That’s a true hero to me. 🙂

  6. My husband is my one of my heroes. He served two tours in Iraq. He is a great father and husband.

  7. Well, my greatest “hero” would be Jesus Christ. Because no one else could *really* make a way to save the world from sin!

  8. My hero as corny as it may sound is my husband. He has been my strength and support this year as I’ve been through a tibial plateau fracture on my right leg, a total knee replacement on my left leg, and the. Two skin cancer removals. He has cooked, washed clothes, looked after me, our three years old grandson, and my mom when she fell and broke three ribs.

    1. Wow! That is not corny at all Gail. You’re husband is a total hero in my book. I pray that you are healing well. Thanks so much for sharing and good luck!

  9. my hero — my mother . . . . . .actually my step mother who is an amazing woman of God . . . .and God’s gift to our family

  10. I think my greatest hero of all time is Paul. He suffered more than anyone for the cause of Christ and just to bring people to the knowledge of Jesus and what He did for us.

    1. Paul… there is so much to admire about him isn’t there? I’d say he was a great hero as well. Thanks for stopping by Stella and good luck!

  11. I love Deb Raney’s books. At my age I have had a number of heroes through the years. It’s hard to name just one.

  12. Thank you for the giveaway. My hero is my daddy. He has been caring for my mother since she was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinson’s Disease. He takes my mother to physical therapy three times a week. He proofreads college essays for the older grandchildren. He serves with the local Gideon ministry and he still has time to plan their trips to visit family and the 10 year old grandchildren trip with Grandma and Grandpa.

    1. Your daddy sounds awesome Kathy. My dad is one of my heroes as well. I will pray for him and your mother. Thanks so much for sharing. Good luck.

  13. My hero is the men and women who served and fought in WWII. They gave up much to preserve our freedom.

  14. All people who in WW II did what they could to help the Jewish people to escape, putting their own lives at risk. The world situation today, with countries and USA as well, not wanting the Syrian refugees makes me think of the time in our history when USA and other countries would not take Jewish refugees into their country. How history would have been changed if they’d had the courage to try to safe as many as they could.

  15. My favorite hero is my husband! He survived a subarachnoid hemmoraghe in January 2014 and the Lord blessed him with more time on earth and my husband was a blessing to the doctors & nurses that treated him for 14 days. He works almost as much today as he did before the event happened.

    1. You definitely have a hero there Karen. I am so glad to hear that God blessed him (and you) with more time. Thanks so much for sharing that! Good luck.

  16. My first hero is Jesus. He is the greatest and has blessed me with my second hero,my husband. He has been by my side through so much and has done so much for me.

  17. My favorite hero is Christ!!

  18. I have been wanting to read these books. I hope I win! Thanks for the opportunity!

  19. My hero is my Daddy! He worked and gave us what we needed when times were hard. I looked up to him more than anyone.

  20. My hero would be God because He’s done soo much for me when He died on the cross for all our sins and rose again on the third day because of His for us!!! Thanks for the awesome giveaway and God Bless You!!!

  21. My favorite hero is a tie between my husband & my son-in-law! My husband because he saved a ladies life after she crashed through a guardrail into water, & my son-in-law because he served as a US Marine in Afghanistan

    1. Both are excellent heroes Sharon! You are incredibly blessed to have them in your life. Thanks so much for sharing and good luck.

  22. Would have to say my DAD a lot of who i am today was all because of what he taught me.

  23. My hero is my dad. Even when he was on hospice and not expected to live more than a few days he made it a point to make the nurses and every one he came in contact with smile. He has made a wonderful recovery and is back at home and does not need hospice care anymore.

  24. My husband who has taken care of me for years since I have had a chronic health condition. He also helped my Mom take care of Dad the last four years of his life, after Dad developed Parkinson’s and lost his vision.
