Welcome to this months unboxing of the book subscription service: Book Nerd Essentials from Misplaced Muse Creative. I ordered it through Cratejoy (affiliate link). The box that I subscribe to is the monthly classic box which includes a book, full pot coffee sample, full sized candle, and a surprise bonus item. They also have this subscription for YA books.

What did I get in my box this month? I am going to share the contents with you here. My review is not for the book or the items I received because I haven’t read/used them yet, but instead will be for the content and subscription experience.

Unboxing

  • The box arrived in good shape and well labeled.
  • On the top of everything was a postcard listing the books and candles available in each subscription.
  • The first item in the box was the full size candle: Goldfinch.
  • The second item in the box was a Sweetheart Blend Coffee from Barnie’s Coffee and Tea Company.
  • The third item in the box was a Metal ‘I Can’t Adult Today’ keychain.
  • The fourth item in the box was a Fit and Fiddle tea light candle.
  • There were also a bookmark and a coaster.
  • The fifth item in the box was the book… The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt.

Here is everything I received in this box.

Review

What I liked:

  • Everything was packaged well
  • The candles smelled great
  • The coffee packet makes at one full pot (12 oz)
  • Fun and useful bonus items
  • Book was in canvas bag

What I didn’t like:

  • Unknown book selection
  • Paperback edition

Overall Opinion

This is my second box with this subscription service. I love the curation of the box. I’m a little concerned about the book since it is an unknown to me. I am pretty particular about clean reads so I hope this is one. I also wish the selection was a hard cover rather than a paperback. While this one wasn’t as impressive for me as last month, I’m still looking forward to enjoying all of the items in this box.

This subscription service is $36.95 plus $8.95/shipping.
