Truly Yours is the book subscription service from Barbour Publishing. Since they are a Christian book publisher, they provide inspirational fiction books. You receive one new release book every four to six weeks. Here’s some further information on their service.

This is the eighth shipment I have received. I’ll share the contents with you here. My review is not for the book I received because I haven’t read it yet, but instead will be for the content and subscription experience.

Unpacking

These shipments arrive in padded envelopes. This one arrived in good shape clearly labeled so that I knew what was in the envelope.

The book I received was ‘The Soldier’s Lady’, a novella collection, by Susanne Dietze, Janette Foreman, Gabrielle Meyer, Lorna Seilstad (Historical Romance). Here is what the book is about:

“Join four adventurous women making their home at Old West forts. Faced with daily challenges—and stubborn men—they bring civility to the frontier.
The Colonel’s Daughter by Gabrielle Meyer
Minnesota, 1828—Fort Snelling
Major Nathaniel Ward is tasked with guarding his commanding officer’s daughter, Ally Benson, from the amorous soldiers at Fort Snelling, but he finds the hardest person to keep in line is himself.
Frontier of Her Heart by Susanne Dietze
California, 1854—Fort Humboldt
All is fair in love and war, but the contest of wills between fort cook Emily Sweet and Assistant Surgeon Boyd Braxton is all about pride, not romance. . .until they must work together to stop an epidemic.
Save the Last Word for Me by Lorna Seilstad
Kansas, 1864—Fort Riley
Determined schoolteacher Adelina Dante believes every man, woman, and child deserves the chance to read and write, but when she approaches Colonel Isaac Scott about why he should allow his illiterate soldiers to attend special classes, she’s the one who gets educated in matters of the heart.
Forever Fort Garland by Janette Foreman
Colorado, 1879—Fort Garland
Annie Moreau arrives at Fort Garland to marry her soldier pen pal, Martin, but encounters two surprises—Martin has died in battle and she’s been corresponding with dashing Captain Jefferson Gray all along.”

Review

I like this subscription service overall. The selection this month is not by cup of tea because western historicals are my least favorite romance genre and I read very few novella collections. So this one will go to one of my blessed readers in a book giveaway somewhere down the road. Sometimes there is a post card in the shipment that gives you an idea of what the next month will bring. The only thing I would do to improve this service would be to allow subscribers to get more than one book a month.

The cost of this service is $9.97/month plus tax and free shipping. For a brand new book, this is a good price.

I will continue the subscription next month.
