There are some names that grab me because they are just so beautiful and then there are the ones that really fit those characters. Many of my favorite character names come from Jen Turano’s historical romances. The names are unusual or unique and fit in with both the historical time frame and the personalities. Two character names that caught my attention recently were Adelaide and Gideon from Jen’s recent release, To Spark a Match.

I like the main character’s name of Hadley in Coming Home To Seashell Harbor by Miranda Liasson. My almost 2 year old great Niece is also named Hadley. Before her, I had never heard that name.

I just love it when books have lesser known names. Thanks for commenting Michelle. 🙂

Deana Dick
Laura from the Little House on the Prairie series. I have always loved thst name and when i was little I wanted that to be my name.
Loraine
That’s so interesting that you say that Deana. It reminds me of the name I wanted to have when I was little – Veronica. I read it in a book and loved it. Thanks for commenting. 🙂
Trixi
I read so many books so I have many names that I like!
I think the one constant name I like is Charlie from Irene Hannon’s contemporary series “Hope Harbor”. He owns a taco cart and dispenses sage advice! He’s a very wise man, the author doesn’t give a lot of personal information on him and I’m really hoping someday she’ll write his story!!
I’m going to enter for my husband this time because he enjoys cozy mysteries! Thank you for the for the giveaway chance Loraine.
Loraine
You’re welcome Trixi. I’ve only read one book from that series so far but Charlie was a favorite of mine as well. Thanks for commenting. 🙂

There is no one name I prefer. I just like nice, normal names. I really don’t care for the strange names and spellings for names that some authors come up with.

My best friend growing up was named Holly so I like that name too Roxanne. Thanks for commenting. 🙂

As long as the name is appropriate for the character – such as being time period correct or regionally correct – I usually like the names from most books that I read. Now, if you really want me to be specific, I might have had my name or part of my name appear in 3 books, twice as minor characters.
Loraine
That’s so neat Jasmine and you have such a pretty name too. Thanks for commenting. 🙂
