What is this book about?
Returning to her employer’s estate, caretaker Teegan Albright discovers the elderly woman dead—next to her own twin sister’s body. And when the masked killer appears and turns his knife toward her, Teegan finds a surprising ally and protector in Rhode Spencer—crime scene cleaner, private investigator…and the unknowing father of her two-year-old twins. After she inherits the rich lady’s fortune and the killer strikes again, all signs point to Teegan as the original target. Now with a greedy family topping the suspect list, can the pair unwrap a murderer’s identity…before Christmas turns deadly?
My review:
First of all, let’s talk about the suspense. There was almost no time to breathe as Teegan, time and again, had to deal with a killer targeting her. There were a few times when it felt over the top and I wondered why she would put herself in some of those situations but it did keep me turning pages. The killer? I was completely surprised and a little disappointed because I didn’t catch any foreshadowing. The romance was a nice sideline and I loved Rhode’s family.
What I enjoyed most about this book:
Page turning suspense and fun family dynamics
What I didn’t like about this book:
Killer reveal felt contrived.

Would I recommend this book to others? Possibly. Loads of page turning suspense, interestingly flawed characters, and sweet romance. This is the third book in the series. I read it as a standalone but did feel like I missed something by not reading the first two in the series.
