What is this book about?
Marina has spent her entire life swimming against the current—and she’s finally close to the future she’s worked so hard to earn. A job at the city’s most prestigious law firm is her first step toward law school, where she plans to fight for kids in crisis just like she once was. One slip-up could cost her everything, and her notoriously strict boss doesn’t tolerate distractions—or bad press.
So of course, the one spontaneous moment Marina allows herself lands her in a viral video with a world-famous rock star…while she’s dressed as a mermaid and singing in public.
Determined to protect her future, Marina plans to disappear—until her meddling friend tells Zach exactly where to find her. When he shows up at the library where she’s singing to children and curious onlookers start pulling out their phones, the two are forced into a hasty escape. One impromptu dinner later, Marina finds herself agreeing to the one thing she swore she wouldn’t risk: dating him in secret.
My review:
What a delightful rom-com by an indie author. There were so many things I loved about this story that made it hard to put down. First, Zach. Sigh. Not only was he a wonderful person, but the way he pursued Marina… I enjoyed the way he saw her and valued her. Secondly, the group of friends was awesome. I’m definitely checking out their stories later. And third, sweet romance abounds. This was clean but did have some heated make-out sessions.
What I enjoyed most about this book:
Zach’s sweet and determined pursuit of his mermaid.
What I didn’t like about this book:
Just a tad overboard in the swoony direction.

Would I recommend this book to others? Yes. Clean but swoony romance, great characters, and an overall happily ever after story. This is the first book in the series.
Where can I learn more about this author and their books?
