This week’s book giveaway is for the inspirational romantic suspense book Over the Line (affiliate link) by Kelly Irvin.
What is this book about?
Gabriella has never forgiven her former fiancé, homicide detective Eli Cavazos, for breaking her heart. Then a man she’s never met shows up at her restaurant, a bullet in his chest and her brother’s name on his lips. Gabby soon realizes this man is connected to a powerful ring of criminals who know far too much about her.
Against her better judgment, Gabby turns to Eli for help in finding her brother. When she receives a cryptic text from her brother’s cell phone, she realizes she is in deep and may be dragging Eli down with her. With her brother nowhere to be found and pain from her past threatening to overwhelm her, Gabby wonders how she will make it through this unexpected quest unscathed—or alive.

It would from my BF that lives in another state. It would have reference to Houston, MO (where we met) and it’s always been our key (usually in a public place) to know the other needed to talk. I would take it mean to call her immediately. If there was no answer, I’d be finding out why even if it meant a trip to MO.

I have a friend that sends me messages all the time. Hers is always cryptic because she never checks for errors and I get confused. But she always seems to have a crisis happening in her family. The best I can do for her situations is pray.

The text is from my best friend, who has a talent for finding trouble even when simply going to buy coffee.
The message reads:
“Don’t panic. I’m fine. But if anyone asks, I was never at the llama farm. The key is in the left boot. Trust Pickles. Also, whatever you do, don’t let the bird talk to the police.”
Naturally, I panic.
Ten minutes later, I’m driving toward a llama farm with a golden retriever, a very suspicious cockatiel, and approximately zero understanding of what’s happening.

Thanks for making me laugh! 🙂

Jim Phelps left a message stating that the Secretary has disavowed the Impossible Missions Force team. Apparently, the warning message from the self-destructing tape came to fruition after the recorded briefing, but the mission turned out to be impossible!
If you remember the original Mission Impossible television series from the 1960s-1970s, this scenario is more likely to make sense. 🙂

Ugh! I don’t know why some of the emojis are going through and other ones aren’t.
This is what it’s supposed to say with emojis in parentheses:
I received this cryptic text from my husband:
(Eye) 4got m(eye) work ☎️ & (key)s. W(sick green face) (ewe/sheep) plz b(ring) them 2 me?
My response:
10-4. (Eye) w(sick green face) (bee) there (right arrow over the word “soon)”.
Oh well. I gave it my best shot. Ha ha.

Oh. For some reason, my previous comment didn’t put in all the emojis that were in the cryptic messages. Let’s try again.
