Welcome 2025! My word for the year

I begin the new year by choosing one word to represent my goals or focus for the year. Sometimes I accomplish them. Other times they serve as reminders of the things I want to keep foremost in my life.

My word for 2024 was ‘intentional’. This was my reminder throughout the year that no matter what was happening in my life, I needed to be intentional about living out my faith. Because this word defined my year in deep ways, I will still live by it in 2025.

Something that stood out to me during my intentional focus on my prayer life and bible study was the idea of living with joy as a Christian. To go hand in hand with last years word, the word I’ve chosen for 2025 is:

“JOYFUL”

joyful (adj): feeling, expressing, or causing great pleasure and happiness.

My relationship with God should make me joyful and this year I am intentionally seeking after that joy.
