What is this book about?
FBI Special Agent Lincoln St. John is living his own personal nightmare. When the woman he loves, Allison Radcliffe, is killed, he devotes himself to tracking down the killers and making them pay for their crimes.
He expected it to be a challenge. What he never expected was to find Allison very much alive shortly after her “murder.”
As his anger and hurt mix with relief, Linc isn’t sure how he’s supposed to feel. One thing he does know for sure: he and Allison will have to work together to stop a killer before she dies a second time–this time for good.
My review:
This story hits the ground running with loads of suspense. Allison’s backstory, which was the driving force behind her career and her decisions, was doled out in agonizing tidbits throughout. When the truth of her past was finally revealed, my heart ached for her.
I had an inkling of who the villain was but the reason behind the evil took me completely by surprise and I struggled with that part of the story.
Since Linc and Allison were already good friends and partners, their romance began prior to this story and blossomed within the pages. It was great to visit with the St. John clan once again.
What I enjoyed most about this book:
The relationship between Allison and Daria.
What I didn’t like about this book:
Villain and the motives

Would I recommend this book to others? Yes. Page turning suspense from beginning to end, nice friends-to-more romance, great family dynamics. This is the fourth book in the series and it can be read as a stand-alone but does have an epilogue tying the entire series together.
