This week’s book giveaway will run for three weeks and is for the inspirational historical romance series: Hidden Hearts of the Gilded Age series by Crystal Caudill.
What are these books about?
Theresa Plane owes it to her beloved grandfather to save the family name–that means clearing their debt before she marries the wealthy and dashing Edward Greystone. But when a creditor’s threats lead her to stumble across a midnight meeting, Theresa discovers that Grandfather is hiding far more than the money he owes. And the secrets he kept now have Theresa trapped in a life-threatening fight for her home . . . and the truth.
After months of undercover work, Secret Service operative Broderick Cosgrove is about to uncover the identity of the leader of a notorious counterfeiting ring. That moment of triumph turns to horror, however, when he finds undeniable proof that his former fiancée, Theresa, is connected. He won’t believe the woman he loved is a willing participant. Protecting Theresa and proving her innocence may destroy his career, but that’s better than failing her twice in one lifetime.
Broderick and Theresa must form a partnership, but there’s no question they’re both keeping secrets. That lack of trust in one another, when there are dangerous criminals out for their blood, threatens their hearts, their faith, their very survival.
When Secret Service operative Andrew Darlington is brought in to support a US Marshal case involving counterfeiters in rural Indiana, he thinks it’s simply the next rung on his climb to the top of his career. But liars can only climb so high–and Andrew is keeping a dangerous secret he doesn’t ever want to get out. When he clashes with the criminal family that took over the town of Landkreis and killed the Marshal he was sent to assist, his past life is in danger of being exposed.
Widow “Lightning Lu” Thorne has only one goal: escape the clutches of the Thorne family with her son. Her decision to be an informant and testify against the Thornes looked like the perfect answer. Until the Marshal ended up dead. Now the tether keeping her tied to her felonious family is tightening, and a forced marriage to someone else in the Thornes’ clutches threatens to kill any hope of escape.
Andrew and Lu find themselves on the same team–unwillingly. They each believe the other to be the enemy to their future plans. And even if they could learn to work together, the secrets they hold could shatter all hopes and dreams. Despite the encouragement of the local preacher, they’re not even sure God can be trusted–much less other humans. Can either of them escape their past–and the family that is willing to kill their own when they smell betrayal?
As matron of Final Chance House of Refuge, Gwendolyn Ellison has dedicated her life to serving the children deemed delinquents by society. She’ll protect them with everything she has. So when she suspects someone is using Final Chance for criminal deeds, she’s determined to investigate and put a stop to it. But villains don’t like to be crossed–and they’re willing to kill to get their way.
Gwendolyn knows she can’t quit fighting. More than her own life is on the line if counterfeiters go free. She must find someone she can trust to help her expose the criminals and protect the children under her care.
Charming and chivalrous Secret Service operative Josiah Isaacs has never been able to turn his back on a woman in trouble–and capturing counterfeiters is his job, after all. The danger he’s truly worried about is his growing attraction to Gwendolyn when his heart wants to remain faithful to his deceased wife.
As both peril and interest grow, he begins to consider whether a second love may be possible–if they can live through this case. At the same time, he’s put off by her faith in a God he no longer trusts. How can a future together even be possible when their beliefs are at odds?

In todays world I’m not so sure being an FBI agent is a good thing anymore. I wouldn’t know who to trust and who not to trust. Several years ago I would have said it would have been an exciting career to have but not anymore.
Loraine
Skeptical and unsure. Probably a smart thing Faith. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
Virginia
I ask how I can join the team.

Perrianne Askew
I think it would be an interesting conversation because my grandfather was police chief in a smal town so things that wig people out about law enforcement don’t bother me. I’d want to know why they chose the FBI, what route they took to get there, how much additional education or training they needed, how their family feels about it, how top secret are their cases, and since we’re good friends, why didn’t you tell me sooner?…..you get the picture (kind of nosy?). I’d also like to know what personal handgun they choose to carry outside of the agency issued one and why that was their choice. Yes, folks I live in Texas!
Loraine
Inquisitive and informed. So neat, Perrianne. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
Caryl Kane
I’d be proud of her!

Sounding delighted and thrilled also, Caryl. Thanks for sharing. 🙂

Jan Hall
I would be highly impressed but also worried about their safety.
Loraine
Loving the concern Jan. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
Dianne Casey
I would be in awe. Don’t know anyone in the law enforcement profession so they would be really good at it. I would be full of questions.
Loraine
Awestruck and inquisitive. I think I would be too Dianne. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
Sarah Evankovich
If they admitted they work for the FBI, which they may not be able to say, then my answer would be surprise & just an Oh & I’d ask them what they’re job there was. With working at the FBI, I would assume they really couldn’t say much about what they do there & it wasn’t because they didn’t want to, but because they’d be breaking their Top Secret security clearance & putting me in danger.
Loraine
Well thought out Sarah. I love that. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
SARAH TAYLOR
Thant would be very interesting!
Loraine
Thanks for sharing Sarah. 🙂
Linda Moffitt
Since they are my friend I would make them come to the county I live in to solve all the cold cases
Loraine
Oh, I like that idea Linda. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
