This week’s book giveaway is for the inspirational suspense book State of Lies by Siri Mitchell.
What is this book about?
Months after her husband, Sean, is killed by a hit-and-run driver, physicist Georgie Brennan discovers he lied to her about where he had been going that day. A cryptic notebook, a missing computer, and strange noises under her house soon have her questioning everything she thought she knew.
With her job hanging by a thread, her son struggling to cope with his father’s death, and her four-star general father up for confirmation as the next secretary of defense, Georgie quickly finds herself tangled in a web of political intrigue that has no clear agenda and dozens of likely villains.
Only one thing is clear: someone wants her dead too. And the people closest to her might be the most dangerous of all.

The first thing I think of of course is songs like the song “Downtown” my mom and my aunts used to play it in their car and come downtown where me and my friends were hanging out and drive really slow by us & sing it really loud

How Great Thou Art was the piece I played at my very first piano recital. We were to play from memory so I left my music at home. When I was called up and sat down at the piano my mind went blank. I was so embarrassed. My teacher came to my rescue and sat beside me. Between the two of us I recalled the notes and I finished the song. I think of that recital when I hear that song but always rejoice at the words!

The sound of cows running brings back the memory of me at 10 years old being chased across the pasture by one our cows. I ended up tripping while running away and landed inches away from a fresh cow manure pile. 😀

A sound that takes me back to a childhood memory is a swing squeaking. Reminds me of the times we swung in the back yard or on the playground in grade school. Or the glider swing on my grandma’s porch.
