What is this book about?
Corporate litigator Mia Shaw suffers the shock of her life when she finds her colleague and friend brutally murdered. Grief-stricken and furious, Mia vows that she will do anything to seek justice and make the killer pay.
The man accused of the murder is a friend of security tech guru Noah Ramirez, but the evidence just doesn’t add up. To save his former ATF partner, Noah needs to convince Mia that the real killer is still on the loose.
Mia soon has more than the criminal prosecution to worry about, however. She is tasked with taking over her friend’s last case and learns he was hiding secrets about his client. She thinks she may have stumbled upon corporate espionage that has turned deadly, but she has no idea of the danger involved. Her only ally is Noah, despite their difference of opinion on the homicide case. Can he win Mia over to his side and protect her from ever-growing threats?
My review:
This story gets a jumpstart on the suspense with a murder in the first few pages, and someone close to Mia, no less. Right away I understood Mia’s desire to see justice served and her determination to help that happen. The conflict occurred when her opinion of who the villain was differed from Noah. I liked that even in the midst of their obvious disagreement, sparks flew.
Mia was a very strong and determined woman, but I really liked that she wasn’t so strong she couldn’t admit she was wrong or accept help from others. The romance between her and Noah was slow and very sweet.
There were lots of suspects in the story and, this is strange for me to say, I feel like there were too many of them and the story dragged a little because of it.
What I enjoyed most about this book:
Sweet romance
What I didn’t like about this book:
Too many suspects?
Would I recommend this book to others? Yes. Page turning suspense, interesting characters, and sweet romance. This is the third book in the series. It can be read as a standalone.

Good review! When there are a lot of suspects in a story, I have to start writing them down with all the clues or I get lost. Sounds like a fun read, though!
