What is this book about?
When Detective Isaac Martinez lands in the ER with a gunshot wound, he pulls through thanks to trauma surgeon Ruthie St. John. But as the witness to a crime and possible corruption, Martinez is at risk from someone intent on silencing him–and those around him–forever. When he barely survives another attack while recovering, both he and Ruthie must flee, trying to outrun deadly killers as they search for the evidence they need to end the danger.
My review:
Short and sweet. This novella is a nice little bite between books 2 and 3 of the Blue Justice series highlighting the surgeon sibling, Ruthie. It is more suspense than romance but ends satisfactory for a small romantic suspense. I enjoyed the chemistry between Ruthie and Isaac as well as the whodunit mystery.
Note: This story is part of The Cost of Betrayal novella collection.
What I enjoyed most about this book:
Page turning suspense with a nice HEA
What I didn’t like about this book:
Nothing

Would I recommend this book to others? Yes. Page-turning suspense, wonderful characters, and a nice touch of romance at the end. This novella is book 2.5 in the series. It can be read as a stand-alone but the epilogue makes better sense if read between books 2 and 3.
