What is this book about?

Reopening a missing person case… could have deadly consequences.

Vlogger Annie Linscott is determined to investigate the unsolved disappearance of her friend Jenny. She travels to Crestville, Colorado, to make sure Jenny isn’t forgotten as another statistic, with or without help from Sheriff Brady Johnson. Brady’s faith—in himself, in justice, in God—has been tested lately, but he can’t deny that something is off in the small town. When their digging catches the attention of sinister forces, Brady wants to protect Annie. But someone is determined to make sure this case remains cold…even if they have to kill for it.

My review:

This started a little slow in character development but once I got to know Annie a little better, I was invested in her story. The suspense was tight throughout with definite villains and an evil ‘who-knows-what?’ atmosphere. I really enjoyed the good triumphing over evil and the deep regard for right and human life expressed by both Annie and Brady. Their love story was a little fast at the end but I did believe they would eventually end up together.

What I enjoyed most about this book:

The intrigue of not knowing who we could trust.

What I didn’t like about this book:

The abrupt push for the romance at the end.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Would I recommend this book to others? Yes. Lots of suspense and intriguing mystery, good characters, strong thread of right vs. wrong. This is a standalone story.
