About the Author

Beth K. Vogt believes God’s best often waits behind the doors marked “Never.” She’s authored 15 novels and novellas, both contemporary romance and women’s fiction. Beth is a Christy Award winner, an ACFW Carol Award winner, and a  RITA® finalist. Her newest contemporary romance novel, Dedicated to the One I Love, releases June 20, 2023. Her novel Things I Never Told You, book one in her Thatcher Sisters Series by Tyndale House Publishers, won the 2019 AWSA Golden Scroll Award for Contemporary Novel of the Year. My review:

This was a fun romance of two people struggling with secrets and misunderstandings to find clarity and love. It took me some time to warm up to Kylie who was standoffish and guarded. I liked Joe right away. I felt sorry for the man who couldn’t seem to stop himself from sticking his foot in his mouth, especially when it came to interacting with Kylie. My favorite parts were the text conversations where they bounced trivia questions back and forth. There were some extra characters that didn’t seem necessary but perhaps there will be future stories with those friends. The romance was sweet and the dialogue was snappy.

What I enjoyed most about this book:

The fun trivia interaction between Jo and Kylie.

What I didn’t like about this book:

Too many extra characters. Perhaps that’s a set-up for future series?

Would I recommend this book to others? Sure. The interactions between the main characters, particularly the texts, were fun and the romance was sweet. This is a standalone story.
