What is this story about?

When the man who killed her father is finally arrested, Catherine Hart thinks it’s safe to come out of hiding…until he escapes and abducts her. But private investigator Garrett Wolfe and his tracking dog rescue her just in time. Now they must work together to escape the criminal on their heels, find Catherine’s kidnapped uncle and stop her sister from walking straight into the fugitive’s path. My review:

Very suspenseful and I really enjoyed the relationship between Garrett and his tracking dog. The romance was good but a little overshadowed by being constantly on the edge of my seat waiting for the next disaster to happen.

 

Witness Escape by Sami A Abrams

What is this story about?

When witness Tabitha Wilson’s new identity is uncovered and she’s almost kidnapped, she finds herself on the run from a murderous drug lord. But her DEA contact has gone missing, forcing Tabitha to rely on Detective Doug Olsen—a man with his own secrets. It’s a race against time for Doug and Tabitha to uncover buried evidence before the cartel makes them disappear forever.

My review:

The suspense! Oh my goodness. There was almost no time to catch my breath as Doug and Tabitha raced to get evidence against a drug cartel before an unknown villain takes them out of the equation. I enjoyed the team dynamics with the other detectives and definitely admired Doug for his loyalty and protectiveness. Although I felt that ‘love’ came to quickly, I did enjoy the sweet romance.

Would I recommend this book to others? Yes, particularly for the suspense. Both books had a nice cast of characters, sweet romance, and edge of the seat suspense. Both stories are part of a series and can be read as standalones but reading the previous books gives background on recurring characters.
