What is this book about?
After Melanie Graham awakens in the woods injured and with no memory of what happened, she quickly learns someone wants her dead. Now she must rely on deputy sheriff Luke Baxter to protect her. But while there’s a spark between Melanie and the handsome veteran, they can’t afford a distraction…because if Luke doesn’t stop the mystery assailant soon, it may be too late.
My review:
Lots of suspense and attraction take root in this story. From the very first page, Melanie struggles with lost memories and multiple attempts on her life. I liked that the attraction was there right from the start but that it took time for any action on it, not just because of the circumstances they were in but also because of Luke’s idea of what his life should look like.
I found both Melanie and Luke to be enjoyable characters and was happy for them to find their happy ever after. I did think that they were a little too serious about each other at the end of the story though.
I liked that the suspense was consistent throughout the story and enjoyed that I wasn’t able to pinpoint the villain.
What I enjoyed most about this book:
The ever present attraction in the midst of the suspense.
What I didn’t like about this book:
Their relationship at the end seemed too fast for me considering how long it took them to actually get together.
Would I recommend this book to others? Yes. This is standard Love Inspired Suspense which is always fast paced suspense. This is a standalone story.
Note: I received this book complimentary in a giveaway. I was not required to give a review. All of the opinions I have expressed are my own.
