Synopsis of the book:

When investigator Gabe Chavez had his cover blown by an aggressive reporter, the silver lining was being able to rejoin the dive team. The downside? Dive team captain Anissa Bell, a woman who both fascinates and frustrates him.

Anissa grew up as a missionary kid on the Micronesian island of Yap and always planned to return after college. But she remained stateside, determined to solve the case that haunts her—the murder of her best friend and the disappearance of a three-year-old child.

When Anissa’s fractured past collides with Gabe’s investigation into the tragic shooting death of a teenage boy in Lake Porter, they’ll have to put aside their complicated history with each other in order to uncover the killer’s identity.

My review:

A cold case solved, a friendship turned to romance, and the return of characters I just love—what a great end to this exciting series.

After seeing the sparks flying between Gabe and Anissa in the first two books of this series, I was ready to see their relationship unfold. I was not disappointed. I really enjoyed digging deeper into their great characters. Anissa struggled with guilt from her past and finding her purpose with God, but her faith was strong, which I loved.

I knew that there was more to Gabe than the funny man he put out in the open. Turns out he was a great man of faith as well. Plus their romance was, dare I say it, just really sweet. 🙂

Of course the whole cast returns and life is suspenseful, both check mark my go-to list for a romantic suspense series.

If you don’t like deep inspirational threads in your suspense, walk away from this one. God is front and center here.

What I enjoyed most about this book:

Everything. Nail biting suspense, sweet romance, and a deep faith thread. A perfect recipe.

What I didn’t like about this book:

That this is the end of the series.

Rating 5 out of 5 stars

Would I recommend this book to others? Absolutely. This author is a go-to for romantic suspense. Seriously, if you haven’t read this series, you need to remedy that. This is the third book in the series. It can be read as a standalone, but I bet you will not be able to read just one.

Note: I received this book complimentary from the author. I was not required to give a review. All of the opinions I have expressed here are my own.
