What is this book about?
Detective Jackson Forge can hardly wait to marry the street-sly swindler who’s turned his life upside down. Kit Turner is equally excited to wed the handsome detective, and what better way to show her love than providing him with a gift any man of the law would love? She determines to bring to justice the men who years ago maimed his brother despite Jackson’s warning to leave the past in the past. As she digs into the mystery of what happened, she unwittingly tumbles into her own history and endangers her future happiness with Jackson.
My review:
Romance, mystery, and suspense. Right from the beginning, Kit and Jackson are embroiled in solving a case that seeps into their personal lives. If only the mysteries would keep until after they got married. Alas, that was not the case, causing a few rifts between the two and leading them to separate while solving different mysteries. Ultimately they learn that they are better together than apart in both their professional and personal lives. Can’t wait to catch up with them in book three.
What I enjoyed most about this book:
The genuine love between Kit and Jackson
What I didn’t like about this book:
The trust issues that kept cropping up between them

Would I recommend this book to others? Yes. Good characters, interesting adventures, suspenseful mystery, and inspirational message of forgiveness. This is the second book in the series and it can be read as a standalone.
