Unboxing and Review: Truly Yours Box (July 2020)

Truly Yours is the book subscription service from Barbour Publishing. Since they are a Christian book publisher, they provide inspirational fiction books. You receive one new release book every four to six weeks. Here’s some further information on their service.

This is the seventh shipment I have received. I’ll share the contents with you here. My review is not for the book I received because I haven’t read it yet, but instead will be for the content and subscription experience.

Unpacking

These shipments arrive in padded envelopes. This one arrived in good shape but was in a plain mailer without the ‘Truly Yours’ sticker to identify it. Since I get books for review from publishers, I wasn’t sure at first if this was one of my review books or this subscription service.

The book I received was ‘The Mockingbird’s Song’ by Wanda E Brunstetter (Amish Romance Mystery). Here is what the book is about:

“Sylvia has been nearly paralyzed with grief and anxiety since the tragic death of her husband, father, and brother in a traffic accident. She tries to help in the family’s greenhouse while caring for her two young children, but she prefers not to have to deal with customers. Her mother’s own grief causes her to hover over her children and grandchildren, and Sylvia seeks a diversion. She takes up birdwatching and soon meets an Amish man who teaches her about local birds. But Sylvia’s mother doesn’t trust Dennis Weaver, and as the relationship sours, mysterious attacks on the greenhouse start up again.”

Review

I’m enjoying this subscription service. There is usually a post card with every shipment that tells you what you may expect in the upcoming months shipment. Sometimes that is accurate and sometimes you still get surprised! Since there wasn’t a postcard in this shipment, I’m going to be surprised next month. 😉 But that’s okay, because I’ve enjoyed all of the selections I’ve received so far. The only thing I would do to improve this service would be to allow subscribers to get more than one book a month.

The cost of this service is $9.97/month plus tax and free shipping. For a brand new book, this is a good price.

I will continue the subscription next month.
