Welcome 2021! My word for the year

I don’t make New Year resolutions. They just never work for me. However, I do believe in doing things that help me develop long term habits. So I begin each new year by choosing one word to represent my goals or focus for the year.

My word for 2020 was ‘expectant’. I walked through the year expecting God to do great things. Although I’ll admit that 2020 was not what I was expecting, one thing I was reminded of this past year is that God will always exceed any expectations I place on Him.

In light of the challenge to my expectation last year, I’m determined to hold tight to God this year. The word I’ve chosen for 2021 is:

“FAITHFUL”

faithful (adj): remaining loyal or steadfast

With all the challenges 2020 brought, it gives me peace when I dwell on the fact that God is faithful. No matter what is going on in my life, good or bad, I know that God has my life in His capable hands. Not only is He faithful, but my 2021 word also serves to remind me of my responsibility to be faithful to Him.
