This week’s book giveaway is for the cozy mystery book Double Trouble (affiliate link) by Gabrielle Meyer.

What is this book about?

Meredith catches sight of a mysterious man lurking around her home—and he has an uncanny resemblance to her deceased husband! However, he disappears before she can approach him. Could he have anything to do with the 18th-century writing desk Meredith inherited earlier in the day? Or the freshly revealed, long-hidden diary written by Anna Coles, one of the first women to colonize Savannah in 1733? Before Meredith can identify this mystery man, the Coles diary is stolen and her late husband’s doppelgänger becomes a prime suspect.

As Meredith and Julia delve deeper into the investigation, they discover the reason Anna’s descendants have kept the diary hidden all these years—it may contain clues to the location of Blackbeard’s long-lost treasure! Does Meredith’s lingering grief have her seeing suspects who don’t really exist? Can they get to the bottom of all these mysteries and thwart any criminal intent of sinister treasure hunters before the situation spirals totally out of control?

I found a diary while cleaning my neighbors attic. Inside was a story that had me travel back in time when Anne Frank was hiding in an attic. The young girl in the story was part of the family who hid Anne Frank. She would go up there and play games with Anne and encourage her as stayed hidden from the danger. The diary shared how this young girl took food to Anne and cried with her when things looked hopeless. The diary shared that Anne had a diary of her own but would not say where it was. Two young girls who became friends during a turbulent time and closed the gap between cultures.

I found the diary in my Mother’s hope chest and it lead me to my Grandmother’s house. She had a modest Victorian house and the clues led me to her attic and I found some of my Grandfather’s stuff. I never knew my Grandfather because he passed away when my Mom was 10 years old. Finding something from him was like a real treasure to me.

I’d like to find a diary while I’m cleaning out my grandparents’ home (something I have to do anyway). The clues could lead to a secret new vacation spot with treasure.

Think I found the diary in one of the national parks we were visiting. Seems the clues and mystery to solve all deal with the other parks on our bucket list that we are working on reducing that summer. While visiting all the amazing parks just for themselves, the diary gives us another angle to look at them as we search for the answers to the clues given within the diary.

I live in a historic one room school house that my grandfather purchased near the time of The Great Depression. He modestly turned it into their family home. When my husband and I took ownership of the house, we began the process of renovating it. (This is actually true. The rest of this is pretend ). I was thrilled to find an old diary in a cubby of one of the closets, Upon reading it, i found it was written by my grandmother. In one of the entries she shared how there was a hidden treasure of family jewel heirlooms. Living around the time of The Great Depression, for safekeeping my grandfather buried it near the chicken coop, which was the site where the old privy of the one home school house had been. There was no longer a chicken coop when we moved in, Just a grassy backyard. I told my mother, who was now in her 90’s, about finding my grandmother’s diary, and the entry of a family treasure. She said she was aware of my grandfather burying some family jewels. but they had never been found. As far as she knew, my grandfather had never dug them up before he died, She told me a general idea of where the chicken coop had been. So began our search for the missing treasure!

Thanks for the chance to win Double Trouble by Gabrielle Meyer! It sounds like such an intriguing, adventurous read!
