What is this book about?

Depending on what the bereaved liked or could eat: I’d take a meatloaf or chilie, or my decadent chocolate cake.

For me, it’s sweets are a comfort food. I would send a coconut cream pie and a batch of Ozark Honey Oatmeal Cookies. One for meal dessert and one for that nibble of something as trying to get through it all.
