This weekβs book giveaway is for the inspirational historical romance bookΒ Guarding the Mountain Manβs SecretΒ (affiliate link) by Misty M Beller.
What is this book about?
Miles is the youngest of six brothers, and heβs spent most of his life helping guard the familyβs secret: a sapphire mine hidden deep within the Montana mountains. With threats from a past enemy looming, a survey teamβs arrival stirs suspicionβuntil he meets Clara Pendleton, whose presence captivates him.
Clara Pendleton joins her uncle on a survey team tasked with mapping the coming railroadβs path, only to find herself entangled with the enigmatic Coulter family. When her uncleβs accident leads them to find refuge in the Coulter home, Clara is irresistibly drawn to Miles Coulter and his quiet strength. This feels like the haven she cravesβ¦until a series of mysterious attacks endanger everyone on the ranch.
As Christmas approaches, a sleigh ride through a snowy wonderland fans the growing spark between Clara and Miles into a flame, but a broken runner leads Clara to discover the familyβs secret. Now sheβs faced with an impossible choice: betray the man sheβs coming to love or risk the lives of his entire familyβand her own uncle.

Montana’s weather conditions would be a major factor in determining whether or not to build a railroad there.

The wildness of the people of Montana, especially Butte. My husband’s family is from there & he says that in the town is still small & has a history of some pretty shady & awful things.

In 1870 Montana Territory, a railroad survey team would face many dangers while working in remote wilderness. They would travel through rugged mountains, forests, and rivers while dealing with harsh weather, including sudden storms and cold temperatures. The team could also encounter dangerous wildlife such as grizzly bears and wolves. Because they worked far from towns, injuries, illness, and lack of supplies could become serious problems.

Very detailed Natalya. π Thanks for commenting.
