This week’s book giveaway will run for three weeks and is for the inspirational historical romance series: Haven Manor series by Kristi Ann Hunter.
What are these books about?
When Katherine “Kit” FitzGilbert turned her back on London society more than a decade ago, she determined never to set foot in a ballroom again. But when business takes her to London and she’s forced to run for her life, she stumbles upon not only a glamorous ballroom but also Graham, Lord Wharton. What should have been a chance encounter becomes much more as Graham embarks on a search for his friend’s missing sister and is convinced Kit knows more about the girl than she’s telling.
After meeting Graham, Kit finds herself wishing things could have been different for the first time in her life, but what she wants can’t matter. Long ago, she dedicated herself to helping women escape the same scorn that drove her from London and raising the innocent children caught in the crossfire. And as much as she desperately wishes to tell Graham everything, revealing the truth isn’t worth putting him and everyone she loves in danger.
Daphne Blakemoor was perfectly happy living in her own secluded world for twelve years. She had everything she needed–loved ones, a true home, and time to indulge her imagination. But when ownership of the estate where she works as a housekeeper passes on, and the new marquis has an undeniable connection to her past, everything she’s come to rely upon is threatened.
William, Marquis of Chemsford’s main goal in life is to be the exact opposite of his father. Starting a new life in the peace and quiet of the country sounds perfect until his housekeeper turns his life upside down.
They’ve spent their lives hiding from the past. Can they find the courage to face their deepest wounds and, perhaps, find a new path for the future together?
In early 1800s England, Jess Beauchene has spent most of her life in hiding and always on the move in an effort to leave her past far behind her. But when she learns the family she thought had died just might be alive and in danger, she knows her secrets can only stay buried for so long.
Derek Thornbury loves the past, which has led him to become an expert in history and artifacts. He knows Jess has never liked him, but when she requests his help deciphering the clues laid out in an old family diary, he can’t resist the urge to solve the puzzle.
As Jess and Derek race to find the hidden artifact before her family’s enemies, they learn as much about each other as they do about the past. But can their search to uncover the truth and set history right lead to a future together?

I would teach English. For my extra curricular activity I would teach drama and we would perform a play. It’s so much fun to teach kids to get involved in a dramatic play. They can become their own unique person and delve into a character’s life that they normally wouldn’t be able to live.
Loraine
I like that Alison. Very well thought out. Thanks for commenting.

I would teach home economics because it’s no longer taught in schools these days…it was my favorite subject! Kids need to learn those basics (cooking, budgeting, cleaning a home, ect. ) if they are going to survive on thier own someday. Extra curricular activity would be drawing class or a basic cooking class
Thank you for the giveaway opportunity Loraine! I love Kristi & I missed reading this series.

Hopefully, I would be teaching home economics to both girls and boys. One of the basic things one needs to survive is the ability to take care of oneself – laundry, cooking, housekeeping. Part of the basics are getting hints and tips on how to do things easier and faster. For one thing to do for oneself is a lot cheaper that out sourcing like eating out. I would strive to make my classes informative and ways to make chores looked at maybe not as fun but as not the dreadge most think of them as.
Activities I’d love to be involved in would be field trips in hopes of passing on my love of photography along the way. Show them that often we ‘see’ more than we realize and how we can start to see the world completely when viewed through the camera’s eye.
Loraine
I also believe that home economics is a much needed curriculum and I would definitely sign up for the field trips. Thanks for commenting.
Lelia (Lucy) Reynolds
I would teach history and for extra curriculum I would teach baton twirling. Blessings
Loraine
Now that is an interesting extra curricula activity Lucy.
