This weekβs book giveaway is for the contemporary womenβs fiction bookΒ Kindred BlessingsΒ (affiliate link) by Elizabeth Penney.
What is this book about?
Amy Prescott Butler and her husband, Abel, have been drifting apart due to their demanding careers, and they need to discover a way to bridge the gap between them before it’s too late. Savannah Prescott is a fashion influencer striving to land a job with a top designer, but she’s forced to put her career on hold when she’s assigned to work at a local organic farm. Then Savannah gets an exciting opportunity, and she must choose between following her ambitions or her heart. Architect Dylan Prescott normally builds million-dollar houses, but now he’s tasked with reconstructing a more modest home that makes him question whether his current lifestyle needs to be repaired as well.
While at the inn, Amy, Savannah, and Dylan discover their unique family heritage and surprising truths. Can they find the courage to transform their lives and accept their kindred blessings?

Hungarian and I’m pleased to know they know more about my mysterious heritage since we have no record past my grandfather who choose to change his name and refused to talk about his past.
Loraine
That would be interesting to find out, Kay. The name changes and reluctance to talk about the past make it difficult to find out information. Thanks for sharing. π

I met someone that knew my great grandparents when they lived in Germany. I learned they helped get Jewish orphan children out of the country during Hitlers reign.
Loraine
Now that is a very interesting thing to learn. Thanks for commenting, Gail. π

Cherokee. I only have a small amount of Cherokee but my mother was so very proud of it. It came from her father’s side. My maternal grand father was cowboys on an Oklahoma ranch with Will Rogers. (true story)
Loraine
My goodness, I love that information, Sally. I have Cherokee in may heritage but it’s so difficult to get anything else besides the stories. Thanks for sharing. π

My ancestors originally came from France to Canada in the late 1800s. I recently met someone new at a French Club & because we both enjoy genealogy, we discovered we possibly shared some relatives.
I am very blessed to have books from my parents hometowns that cover 100-150 years of history, so it was relatively easy to complete my family tree. Anything I didn’t have was generously provided by ‘cousins’ that share relatives with me that they had already researched.
Loraine
That is so interesting, Nancy. I love that you could complete your family tree. Thanks for sharing. π
Hesper Fry
My ancestors come from Crete, Greece. It would be neat to learn from my encounter that they came from the same area. I would ask all kinds of questions about their culture, food and traditions.
Loraine
Thanks for sharing, Hesper. π
