This week’s book giveaway is for the inspirational romantic suspense book Lethal Standoff (affiliate link) by DiAnn Mills.

What is this book about?

Hostage negotiator Carrington Reed is called to the scene when reports come in that fifteen hostages are being held by the Kendrix brothers in an abandoned house in south Texas. When she arrives on site, Carrington quickly learns that the brothers are armed and refuse to release their victims, a group of undocumented immigrants, until the local police identify their father’s murderer.

Working closely with Levi Ehrlich, a handsome investigative reporter who has covered some of Carrington’s negotiations in the past, she finds herself being undeniably drawn to him. Carrington digs deeper into the death of the Kendrixes’ father and begins to notice that some details surrounding his death aren’t adding up.

As Carrington investigates the brothers’ claims and tries to piece together their motive for taking innocent people captive, it soon becomes clear that they are trying to hide something and that revenge for their father’s death may not be what they’re really bargaining for after all. To protect the hostages and ensure the brothers don’t carry out the rest of their sinister plot, Carrington must get to the bottom of one family’s secret and the truth they’re trying so hard to hide before time runs out.

    There are six hostages, all high ranking in the government that were taken as hostages during a high stakes meeting that was suppose to be at a very secret location. Demands are for lots of money and guns loaded onto and one of the nations fastest, well-equiped jets for them to fly to their nation with no interference.

    8 hostages. They want a loved one released from jail who they believe was wrongly convicted and for them to get a new trial.

    There are four family members being held inside their home. Two are young children. An ex-wife, ex-mother in law, and an 8 year old boy and 5 year old girl, children of the perpetrator. He is demanding visitation even though he’s not paying child support. Threatening kidnapping although the house is surrounded. Negotiating to try and get the children safely out.

    There are three hostages confirmed inside the residence.
    As for demands, the suspect has made three clear requests:
    Guaranteed safe passage out of the neighborhood.
    A single vehicle with fuel.
    And the unusual one – this is what caught everyone off guard: they are insisting that the city replace the neighborhood’s standard street signs with handwritten versions for exactly 24 hours, specifically ones that include “kind messages” like “Slow down, you matter” and “You’re doing better than you think.” 😉

    there are 6 hostages and the criminal is wanting his brother release from jail and a getaway car

    3 hostages -his mothers house- he just robbed a bank and wants a helicopter to get him out of the country

    A family of 4 was taken hostage. The demands are 100,000 in unmarked bills and a vehicle.
