This weekās book giveaway is for the contemporary womenās fiction bookĀ Mending the Past (affiliate link) by DeAnna Julie Dodson.
What is this book about?
As autumn approaches the picturesque town of Magnolia Harbor, South Carolina, the owners of the Magnolia Harbor Inn welcome their new guests for a quilting retreat. Brenda Clifton attends the retreat in hopes of reconciling with her cousin Libby Mayweather. But when Libby rejects her efforts, Brenda fears that some broken relationships can never be fixed. Perhaps the grand old mansion can help the estranged relatives let go of their former hurts and make amends.
Devastated by a tragic loss, Robin McAllister seeks solace in her art as she accompanies her mother to Magnolia Harbor. When Robin experiences a chance encounter, she must decide if she’s going to safeguard her heart or embrace life once again. Meanwhile, Debbie Milner cheerfully keeps the peace among her quilting friends, but her pleasant demeanor hides a surprising secret.

My quilt will have beautiful kighthouses in it. They remind me of a beacon oh hope. Where darkness tries to deter us, a beacon of light is there to guide us to freedom.
Loraine
How beautiful and I love the symbolism. Thanks for commenting, Deana. š

My quilt would be with pretty shades of purple as the main color with complimentary colors to it. Maybe a small center part with a scene of a garden with squares aroung it showing the types of flowers that might be in that garden alternated with birds that visit those flowers.
Loraine
That sounds so pretty, Kay. Thanks for commenting. š

My quilt would be made from floral patterns left in my grandmother’s fabric stash, including the scraps left from her sewing projects decades ago. This would be a special quilt to remember my grandma.
Loraine
I love the personal connection to your grandma, Roxanne. Thanks for commenting. š

My quilt would depict titles of various literary classic works with the first line below each one. I would try to take a sample of male & female writers from various countries & centuries, just as I do for my own reading for variety.

A book lovers quilt – what fun! Thanks for commenting, Art. š

A quilt made of my son’s academic gifted game t-shirts from Elementary, Junior and Senior High School. He just graduated summa cum laude from college.

I’d make a quilt, or more likely have it made like a bookcase with various patterns of the book spine on the shelves.
Loraine
That speaks to my book-loving heart too, Gail. Thanks for commenting. š
Sally Davison
I have many favorite Bible verses that I would add to the quilt to make it an heirloom.
