What is this book about?

Celebrity chef Maxwell Cavanagh is known for many things: his multiple Michelin stars, his top-rated Culinary Channel show To the Max, and most of all his horrible temper. Hadley Beckett, host of the Culinary Channel’s other top-rated show, At Home with Hadley, is beloved for her Southern charm and for making her viewers feel like family.

When Max experiences a very public temper tantrum, he’s sent packing to get his life in order. When he returns, career in shambles, his only chance to get back on TV and in the public’s good graces is to work alongside Hadley.

As these polar-opposite celeb chefs begin to peel away the layers of public persona and reputation, they will not only discover the key ingredients for getting along, but also learn the secret recipe for unexpected forgiveness . . . and maybe even love. In the meantime, hide the knives.

My review:

This story was rom-com at its finest. Polar opposite characters that seem like they could never be friends, much less lovers, come together to make a surprisingly perfect recipe. Admittedly I wasn’t sure about Max at the beginning. He was such a jerk, how would the author make him likable? To my delight, he surpassed likable to become lovable. Part of what made this story so good was Max’s journey to be a man worthy of Hadley.

Hadley was sweet and kind, always seeing the good in people – even Max, although he was a tough case for her. I loved her humility and willingness to fight for what she believed in. From the humorous situations and chemistry between Hadley and Max to the fun recipe chapter titles, this story checked all the boxes for my romance wish list.

What I enjoyed most about this book:

Wonderfully sweet friends to more romance

What I didn’t like about this book:

Nothing

Rating 5 out of 5 stars

Would I recommend this book to others? Oh yes. Witty banter, fun and sweet romance, interesting characters, all sooo good. This is a standalone story.
