What is this book about?

In 1943, Private Clay Paxton trains hard with the US Army Rangers at Camp Forrest, Tennessee, determined to do his best in the upcoming Allied invasion of France. With his future stolen by his brothers’ betrayal, Clay has only one thing to live for–fulfilling the recurring dream of his death.

Leah Jones works as a librarian at Camp Forrest, longing to rise above her orphanage upbringing and belong to the community, even as she uses her spare time to search for her real family–the baby sisters she was separated from so long ago.

After Clay saves Leah’s life from a brutal attack, he saves her virtue with a marriage of convenience. When he ships out to train in England for D-day, their letters bind them together over the distance. But can a love strong enough to overcome death grow between them before Clay’s recurring dream comes true?

My review:

What a mixture of conflicts, from Clay and Leah’s personalities, to the good and bad people surrounding them. Each person brought a unique touch to the story. I loved Leah’s ability to look for the good despite the fact that her entire life had been filled with tragedy. She had a lot in common with Clay who had also been dealt a few bad hands of his own. Together they helped each other overcome their circumstances and find love. I also enjoyed the similarities between Clay and Leah to biblical characters. The lesson of forgiveness ran deep through this story and the series.

What I enjoyed most about this book

What I didn’t like about this book:

Clay’s mission details

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Would I recommend this book to others? Yes. Sweet romance, deep inspirational thread, and interesting conflict. This is the third book in the series and while it can be read as a standalone story, I would recommend reading the series in order to fully enjoy the end of this one.
